End of August Updates!!

Hello, nerds!!

It's slightly late but my tummy is grumbling! The content is churning! It's time for a steaming hot geyser of updates gushing out the pipehole!!

Next Video Progress:
The HK video has had a surprisingly large amount of progress. I'm well ahead of the 31st October deadline set with the sponsor, so you can expect a first draft release in early September, and a minimum loveable product end of September/October time!!

It's had a few major cuts to make it somewhat more watchable so it's an hour and a half now - not 2 hours.

The deadline for an early draft is the 8th September, because I'll be away for a week on a friend's stag do.

Then when I'm back it'll be taking up people's notes, adding sounds, adding custom avatars for people who contributed voices to the project, and I'll need to contact the American Foundation for the Blind. If they're happy with my citations since they own most of the documents I use in the video, it'll be good to go!

Add-ons:
The Fallout New Vegas retro is proceeding in earnest. Audio is now recorded, and now it's a case of putting it all together. I'll release that after the HK video as a bit of bonus content for all you lovelies, and will probably make it available as an unlisted video on the main channel. I like the idea of having a semi-public record of things where my thoughts and feelings have grown and changed with time.

PSA:
I've moved teams at my real job, and right now there's a lull in work. This means the HK video is priority to finish. But moving forwards my workload at work is expected to shoot up.

There's gonna be a shift in the things I actually make for the channel because of this. Things like the HK video are a lot of effort to make from a research side, so the plan is to do more "I have opinions on media" stuff, because it's fun to make and requires less digging round in archives/persuading archivists and academics that a channel called "Soup Emporium" does, in fact, have a rigorous research approach and cares about accuracy.

This lateral move at work coincides with the exclusivity clause in my contract expiring - so it's a significant time personally. I'm gonna make a more informal video about the direction of the channel in the next couple of months, because I want the people who believe in whatever this thing is enough to support it monetarily to have an input in how the channel grows and evolves. That means everyone. Power to the people!
