End of June Updates!
Added 2022-06-24 17:50:01 +0000 UTCHello my sweet Summer children!
Time for a bit of unprompted honesty: I've been feeling emotionally drained the past few weeks. I wouldn't call it burnout. Ennui feels a bit too wanky a term but it's the best one I have. So ennui it is.
I think it's being stuck indoors all day when it's sunny and warm out and not seeing friends or doing social things. Or maybe it's because I'll never be as cool as Mick Lynch. Who knows?
There's simultaneously an overload of things I'm working in, and a lack of focus that makes it hard to produce content for the channel and the Patreon. And that's what we're gonna dig into this update!
Next Video Progress:
Progress is slower than I'd like tbh. The audio is done, and I've gotten the last few voices organised so soon it'll just be a case of collecting all of the footage I need. But I haven't been able to focus on the Helen Keller video of late. There's just a part of my brain that wonders if it's going to draw more attention to a conspiracy theory that very much deserves to die, or if I'm the right person to talk about it. And another part that just slides off of it because, frankly, its kind of heavy. It means that while things are happening, I'm a lot further behind than I want to be. I'm gonna try and rectify that over the next month
Its also being delayed because I'm talking with a sponsor, but they've ghosted me for lack of a better word so moving into July will resume work on the assumption it's a no from them.
In the Pipeline:
At the same time as Helen Keller falling on a bit of a backburner, I've somehow found time to write out - no joke! - 40+ pages worth of feelings on the Simpsons Hit and Run game - which touches everything from my feelings on Principal and the Pauper to how the driving physics in Hit and Run work. It's by nowhere near finished but I'm gonna share it anyway as a way of showing where my brains been at the past few weeks. I've felt my heart has been a lot more on this than other stuff and I think I might do a mini-pivot to these quasi-opinion pieces on media I like. Ive found it a lot more fun to work on, in all honesty.
Also in the Pipeline is a new thing I'd like to start doing called "Metro Retro" - Where I have a retrospective video looking back on things I've made. I'm doing a retrospective on my Fallout: New Vegas video right now because (A) it's over a year old, (B) I don't think it reaches my current standards for research, and (C) my position on some of the things in that video wasn't articulated clearlydeserve expansion/clarification - there's also things in there that, upon learning more, I don't know if I stand by anymore.
I've debated doing what some creators do where there's an unlisted playlist of videos which I don't stand by anymore. I doubt I'll do that for the House video, I stand by most of it, but I think a Retrospective and expansion is worthwhile. And I think a record of how my views on things have evolved over time is (if nothing else) interesting in its own right. And I think it would be good to have a record of what prompted the change of mind.
Also on the cards is the Chernobyl video - I made a terrifying thumbnail of thunderf00ts face for it but since I can't substantiate if he thinks HBO's Chernobyl is pro-USSR or not I might just use it as a bridge to talk about the stuff the show gets wrong. That way I still get to use the cursed face!
Thats all from me for now, folks! Have a great weekend! Big love to all my Big Money Salivas out there!

Hire an agent/agency to deal with the sponsors. Yes they'll take a cut but they will handle all of the price negotiations, communications, and script negotiations for you. When you deal with advertisers directly they generally treat creators like total shit; paying pennies on the dollar & making life hard.
