New Rough Cut: The Fish That Destroyed California

The story of a right-wing media panic that connects 100 years of hydroengineering, the international agricultural commodities markets, Jewish space lasers, Ben Shapiro's novel, and the end of the world as we know it.

This video has been a doozy. I've had the script done since this spring, and a lot of time has been spent fiddling on the edit more than anything else, and truth be told, I'm still really unhappy with it. So I'm releasing a cut now to try and break through the frustration, and to get any feedback. It's such a complicated story and I worry I might be glossing over key information and just can't tell because I'm too close to it now. The montages also still need more work. So I don't know how long it will be before I go public, but I wanted you guys to know I wasn't doing nothing.

Tell me what you think!

this is an excellent video because of how illustrative it is of the mechanics of how capital deploys power within the system. very very good.

The "8,000 years of human civilization and here we are trying to bring the rain back by performing animal sacrifices" line was absolutely brilliant. I've lived in LA and Orange County my whole life and I've kept up with this news for a long time. No one has summed up how stupid it was better than you.

I thought this was a quite thorough overview of the specific issue, and an even more important (not to mention fascinating) case study in the denial/deflection mechanisms of the reactionary right in response to our present climate catastrophe. Very well-edited and relentlessly cutting as always. Maybe some audio issues with the music though? I enjoy your music choices and they seemed more faded into the background than usual. Might just be my sound system though.

Awesome, take your time, still enjoying the hilarious but depressingly true video on Canada, as a Canadian, im still baffled it was as accurate as it was.
