MinnMax's Ben Hanson, Haley MacLean, Kyle Hilliard, and Game Informer's Charles Harte are creating a three-part game club celebrating Metal Gear Solid Delta for The Deepest Dive! The episodes will drop here on MinnMax's YouTube channel and in the bonus podcast feed for $5 supporters on MinnMax's Patreon. This is your chance to rejoice in the return of Metal Gear Solid 3 by submitting a comment on Patreon for us to read during our discussions. You don't need to know anything about Metal Gear Solid to jump in, since this is technically the earliest entry chronologically. We won't be spoiling anything ahead of each stopping point as we go, since this is Haley and Charles' first time playing the game. You're also welcome to play along with our game club with any other version of Metal Gear Solid 3, since Delta is so faithful.

Now, here's what's a little funky this time around. Due to a combination of some of us traveling over Labor Day AND the perfect stopping point of the end of Virtuous Mission, we're technically recording the first episode tonight (August 26th) at 7:30pm Central so we won't be collecting comments since the game isn't fully out yet. We'll be posting the episode on YouTube and the bonus podcast feed for all $5 supporters on Tuesday, September 2nd. Since this is a faithful remake and some of you know the original game well, you're welcome to jump in the chat for this unlisted video as we record it and share your thoughts. We'll be sharing some during our discussions, I'm excited to try out a different format for The Deepest Dive. 2025-09-03 01:37:18 +0000 UTCOk, I played through virtuous mission 3 times at this point, so I’m looking forward to the first episode lol. I picked up an original PS2 copy of snake eater and played through it on my PS3. It felt pretty cumbersome, so I popped it in the PS2 and played through again on OG hardware to see how that felt. I was warming up to the controls and camera a bit, though it was still clunky. I liked what I saw enough to pull the trigger on the remake, and let me say that the modern controls/camera make it a MUCH more enjoyable experience. It’s also so faithful that I don’t feel like I’m missing any of the original charm. Looking forward to this playthrough!
