Welcome back to the best, most thorough discussion about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the internet. In the third episode of our five-part game club series on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, MinnMax's Ben Hanson is joined by his childhood friends Grant and Ronnie as well as Ross "The Star Wars Guy" Pfund to discuss everything about Chapters 5-8. We don't spoil anything beyond Chapter 8 in Rebirth for this discussion or anything from the original game. We talk about the Queen's Blood tournament, Costa Del Sol and its swimsuit options, Barrett's evolving character and North Corel, and all of the sights and sounds of Dio and the Gold Saucer.

Sorry to hear you guys are feeling engaged with it. I think square did themselves a disservice in normal mode. Dynamic, things feel sloggy if I'm not engaging with the systems, synergy, abilities, assess etc. every character feels like they have a really well balanced loop and really excel at one or two things. Normal I don't think any of that nuance is necessary or even possible. Even dynamic some fights it feels like I barely get to charge my limits, use synergies to level them up, and unload during a properly timed stagger. But boy when the stars align it feels great engaging with all the systems at once. I don't know what the solution is, maybe it's just a gaming reality that in order to have depth, these systems must be optional. Btw it hurt me to hear you don't know what arcane ward is. It makes a circle on the ground and if you cast spells, they double cast, it's broken strong. Radiant ward turns her auto attacks into lasers and makes her ATB charge super fast. She's a combat monster. I need to consciously check myself from using her too much because I'm going for that Tifa date because I'm a sane human being.
