Hey MinnMax sans Ben, with the newest Final Fantasy game coming out and seeing a lot of the debate between traditional jrpg fans versus those more open to the action oriented style of the newest entry, is it time for Final Fantasy to finally drop the numbered moniker? I can't help but feel this would have been a good marketing strategy for the long term of the series. It's already confusing enough with both 11 and 14 being MMO's. May I suggest "Final Fantasy: Clive Strikes Back" or "Final Fantasy: Return of the Clive"?

Ben was legitimately stunned during last week's podcast, when he found he didn't have immediate and unwavering support for the idea of just giving effing Tears of the Kingdom the number 1 spot on the Two Tens for this year. And now he's looking the other way for two months. He's a sneaky devil, and he WILL connive that DLC-sold-as-its-own-game into the top spot if the rest of you give him the tiniest glimpse of daylight. It is incumbent on you all to start a training montage for your unified front NOW. He's gonna be discombobulated and sleep-deprived when he returns! He'll be practically Amish, he'll have played so few of the big games this summer! Convince him! Spare us the anticlimax at year's end, I beg of you! Uh, anyway, what's the game you most wanted to see at this year's not-E3, but it didn't appear?

Would you rather play a 10/10 whimsical game or a 10/10 serious game? I think games usually fall somewhere in the middle on the spectrum of whimsical to serious but if one leaned more one way than the other, which would you choose?

Hi Minnmaxers! I have a question about games in the reddit/twitter era born from my enjoyment of Diablo 4. I have been playing Diablo 4 quite happily enjoying myself, finding builds, enjoying the story, etc. I go onto reddit and twitter and see that people don't seem to be happy unless they are complaining about this thing or that. Have you all noticed a trend for fanbases to hate the games they spend hundreds of hours in? What do you do to distance yourselves from this as people who need to be engaged in this for your work? Were games better before we had the whole internet to tell us why the games we love are bad or am I just nostalgia baited. Cheers!

Do I still have to make sure no other buttons are being pressed when I turn on my controller? I'm guessing that's no longer an issue, but after doing it for 20 years, it would be a hard behavior to change.

My friend and I got really excited when we first saw a trailer for Afrika on PS3. At the time, we thought Afrika was an animal simulator where you selected an animal and had to survive in a specific ecosystem. We later wondered if it would have multiplayer where one person would be a cheetah and another would be a deer trying to survive. Our minds tried to puzzle together what Afrika the game was and we were way off. It ended up being a realistic Pokemon Snap kinda game (which is still cool in it's own right). What are some of your more wild incorrect perceptions of games?

With Ben stepping away on paternity for a couple months it got me wondering, if you stepped away from your full time job or just away from the field of games for two months, is there another passion or area you’d want to pursue? Obviously Ben’s circumstances are different with baby responsibilities, but if you could drop everything right now for a couple months how would you fill your time? New jobs, hobbies, naps???
