Max Spoilers - The Pendragon Book Series

This was so fun, love hearing Leo and Jacob talk about these books I've never read with such passion. Even without the context it's very entertaining, the overall summaries reminded me of Worth the Candle by Alexander Wales which I'd recommend. I know this was a rare thing where both people were already very passionate about the series but I wouldn't say no to more book content

i had so much fun listening to this- as you might be able to tell from my display name and icon, Pendragon is one of my favorite things in the world. i'm always searching for new opinions and perspectives on the series, and it's a real treat to find something like this: not only is this conversation long and in-depth, but i also get the feelings of fondness you two have for Pendragon and it makes me smile. as a sort of self-described historian of everything to do with Pendragon, i've heard a lot of different takes, and i've heard a lot of the same takes many many times, but i definitely heard a few here that i've never considered before, particularly about the ending. near the end, you wondered about the popularity of the series in recent terms, and i'm the best person to tell you that it's still relatively obscure, but there are still definitely kids reading it these days. i read the books when i was a kid, and that was years after the last book was published. but beyond kids, there's a few of us dedicated fans still kicking around in the fandom, mostly on tumblr and discord. i was also pleased to hear from someone who was on the old forums! at 19, i'm relatively young in terms of Pendragon fans, so i didn't get the chance to see those forums, and again as a self-described Pendragon historian i'm always eager to learn more about them (especially from someone who was actually there). one more thing i want to mention is Morpheus Road, DJ MacHale's other series after Pendragon, actually takes place in sort of the same universe. there's a few fun callbacks and references, but it also really expands on the concepts that were introduced in the last Pendragon book. if you're interested in learning more, i'd recommend it :) thanks for the interesting conversation, and hopefully you read this comment. if there's ever more Pendragon stuff you want to know or talk about, don't hesitate to contact me! ^^

This was an absolute joy to listen to! I honestly would love a random book series spoiler mode from Contributors/Cohorts every now and then. Mixes things up and it's just always fun to hear you guys talk about things you're passionate about. Also, did anyone else read The Dark is Rising Sequence when they were kids? I loved that series and have way too many vivid memories and feelings attached to it.

Holy. Shit. I LOVE this series. I read them all in like middle school as they were coming out and then I read them all again in 11th grade. I’ve been itching to reread them again lately cause it’s been like 12 years now.

I loved the Pendragon series, this is such a weirdly specific but cool thing to see

I vaguely remember reading this series in the 7th grade. All I remember about it is wanting to eat the weird cucumbers mentioned once in the second book.
