100% agreed on the confusion towards critic reviews of Don't Look Up. Hope this movie pod continues because it's refreshing to hear reviews that don't come from an ivory tower

2022-01-17 05:44:16 +0000 UTCIf Kyle liked Werewolf Within I would absolutely recommend Wolf of Snow Hollow. One of the best horror/comedy/drama films I've ever seen. Also love the other films by the same director/writer/actor Jim Cummings (not the Winnie the Pooh VA). EDIT: Decided to put my top 10 while I was at it. 10. Caveat - Great Irish horror film. 9. Zack Snyder's Justice League - Just a great piece of filmmaking history. 8. The Green Knight - Beautiful movie and the acting was fantastic. 7. Pig - Enough great things have been said about this movie. 6. Benedetta - Paul Verhoeven doesn't miss. 5. The Medium - Phenomenal Thai horror film. 4. The Empty Man - Great Lovecraft inspired horror. 3. The Last Duel - My biggest surprise of the year. I thought this was gonna stink and after the horrible box office performance I was ready to write it off but man would I have missed out on some incredible performances and Ridley Scott's best movie since Kingdom of Heaven. 2. The Beta Test - Such an amazing film with one of the best performances I've seen in years from Jim Cummings. Equal parts thriller and comedy and it works so well. 1. Dune - Nothing left to say about this movie than Ben already said. Perfect world building, characters, writing, direction, etc. Hits all the marks.

2022-01-15 15:36:42 +0000 UTCI forgot it for this list, also it's an odd one to call a film. It almost falls in that Get Back arena.
Ben Hanson
2022-01-15 04:10:14 +0000 UTCI watched 329 films in 2021 but only 10 were films released in 2021. 2022-01-15 02:50:16 +0000 UTCHold on. Serious question for Hanson: where is In and of Itself on your list? You were yelling that movie's praises from the rooftops in January.

2022-01-15 00:28:04 +0000 UTCEh, It has a pretty ok Metacritic score and people out there seem to like it ok. I've mostly heard mild things. Filmcast crew were pretty positive on it, for one. Myself? Not quite turd but probably worst in series.

2022-01-14 22:49:52 +0000 UTCAhhh yeah! This is some sweet, sweet content right here. Is this the first time Ben has talked about Matrix 4 since seeing it? I haven't seen the GOTY videos yet (trying to finish some games so I'm not spoiled).

2022-01-14 22:43:42 +0000 UTCYou two are possibly the only people on the Internet who liked that turd of a Matrix sequel. I'm genuinely surprised to hear you both list it here and speak of it with admiration. That said, I'm glad to hear the movie talk, and have been looking forward to this podcast since you both alluded to it a week or two ago. Cheers to you.
