This got me thinking... where are all the great new orchestral music outside of soundtracks? Is this genre just not that popular, or is it that soundtracks overshadow anything else within the genre? 2021-04-20 15:32:03 +0000 UTCThere's loads of older music that I have only been exposed to through Girl Talk, so whenever there are some classic tunes playing in the background somewhere, I tend to start rapping lyrics from the Girl Talk song, which to the people around me seem completely unrelated. Have you guys experienced your mind filling in these 'phantom' elements of songs, because you know some version or remix better than the original? He's stated before that the name was chosen because it's such a pop culture thing, which matches very well with the collage aspects of the music. However, when I would praise his music, people always get confused with the name 'Girl Talk'. It seems that there are certain names reserved to certain genres, for example with soft indie rock outfit 'Destroyer', not to be confused with grindcore metal band 'Pig Destroyer'. What other artists/bands do you find to have very unfortunate names?
