Submit Your Comment On Cyberpunk 2077's First Act For The Deepest Dive

We're doing it, everybody. We're kicking off our gigantic game club discussion of CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077. But, as always, we need your comment to read on the show! This time the panelists are Ben Hanson, Leo Vader, Suriel Vazquez, and Jeff Marchiafava.

For this week's discussion, we're covering the game's first act. So roughly the first 7 hours or so. The game clearly says "Act 2" on the screen, so please don't spoil anything beyond that point.

Submit a comment on Cyberpunk 2077's Act1, and please get specific. Don't write a long review, please keep your one comment to around the length of a tweet. We want to get to as many comments as possible. Let's talk about your favorite line, NPC, perk, item, weapon, anything specific. The more specific you are, the higher the odds of us reading your comment during the discussion. We'll finish collecting comments on Tuesday morning.

For your own reference, here's the schedule for the rest of The Deepest Dive...

December 28th - Act 2's Sidequests

January 12th - Act 2's Critical Path

January 19th - Act 3/The Ending

You can watch us record The Deepest Dive live on Tuesday evening if you're at the $10 Backstage Pass tier on Patreon. The link will be in the Backstage Pass tier on the Discord. Thanks for your support.

Did any of you play the side mission that was given at afterlife by a character “Dennis” you are tasked with saving a surgeon from Japan. When you save him he line by line repeats a full office quote about how he was a surgeon for the “Tiger Claws” and accidentally killed the big boss but the secret was that he actually killed boss on purpose. I do a terrible job explaining https://youtu.be/2wcI10CNuxU That link shows the line in cyberpunk https://youtu.be/1W39_v4PUGM Anyway fun little nugget.

One trap Cyberpunk seems to fall into like many other RPG's is the dissonance between what your options say and what your character says/does. On paper you may be asking a simple question or trying to have some banter, only for V to do a complete 180 and come off as a complete a-hole. Really wish CDPR found a better way around this.

I was really surprised by the fact that they killed off a major character like Jackie in the first act like that... Really showed some balls on CD Projekt Red’s part. Although in hindsight that E3 2019 trailer kinda spoiled it...

Why is there so much JUNK in this game! I hate it! Collecting all these sodas serves no purpose! I’ve never drank a soda, or used an ashtray, or a lighter - not even once. What is the point of all this crap? Just to strip it down to make upgrade material or something?

Found a few fun references to other games. There are Roach Race arcade cabinets throughout the city. One of the cab side missions, the car speaks like Glados and says there is no cake :(. Also found a BB (Death Stranding) inside the police station during a side mission. Anyone found any others so far?

Thats alot of dildos. Not a complaint. Just an observation.

Hey MinnMax crew! Been enjoying my playthrough of Cyberpunk with my Corpo V. It's been quite a ride so far. To touch on some of the side content you can do in Act 1: has anyone else noticed the optional, sometimes hidden narratives in these gigs? As an example, I came across your typical "gang activity" mission to clear out some enemies from an area and secure evidence. After doing so, I decided to take a closer look around and found a shipping container filled with people. They thanked me and ran for freedom, leaving behind a not-so-lucky victim in the back. A shard I found on her contained a panicked call between her and her mother during the kidnapping. I'm a little torn. I feel rewarded for taking the extra steps to uncover the story to an otherwise uneventful gig. On the other hand, I do kind of miss the straightforward storytelling of a side quest from something like the Witcher 3. What do you guys think? Should CD Project Red have made the stories tied to the gigs more obvious, or is rewarding inquisitive players the way to go?

I just wanna point out my absolute favourite little detail in the game... Rubics Cubes only have four tiles on one side. Im wondering tho, does this make them easier to solve or not?

What just Happened? I feel like I got off a 3 hour long rollercoaster ride. I don’t know what I was expecting from Cyberpunk, but I definitely wasn’t expecting one of the longest most epic linear story missions I’ve every experienced. That is what I call a heist. I just stole a Keanu Reeves A.I. from the most powerful person on the planet and now Keanu is trying to eat my brain and take over my body. And on top of that, the part playing as Keanu made me feel like a complete badass.

We gotta talk about these radio stations. I’m surprised there’s so many stations for sub-genres of electronic music. Pacific Dreams: Chillwave, Night FM: Techno & Dubstep, Radio Vextelstrom: Industrial, Samizdat Radio: Ambient, Radio Pebkac: Eurodance. This detail replicates an authentic music scene in the world of Cyberpunk. I just wish there was more stations for the other genres of music, but they each only have one. I wonder if this was intentional.

Hello Minnmaxers! Nearly through this first portion of the game and I am really liking it so far. One highlight for me would definitely have to be the music, I’ve loved nearly every song on the radio and all the in-mission tracks. What are your thoughts on the music in Cyberpunk 2077? Side note, this game really reminds me of The Outer Worlds! First person perspective, futuristic setting, streamlined RPG mechanics, and certainly some “jank in the trank”. Surely I can’t be the only one who’s made this connection, right?

2077 more like 2177. Do you think in 50 years we will actually have all those upgrades? I feel like it’s way off just like what back to the future thought we’d have by now.
