Dr. Who Reaction 14x3 - Boom

"It's going to be a moment, yeah.", The Doctor, "Boom" I think this is one of the better Moffat stories we've seen in a while. I have the problem I always have with Moffat's Anglican soldiers but apart from that. "And if it does work, I'm going to be very cross at you for a very, very long time.", "Not that long, babes. You're standing on a landmine.", The Doctor and Ruby, "Boom" We've seen the Doctor step onto a landmine before - in "Genesis of the Daleks". Moffat said that this story was inspired by that sequence, but he thought they escaped from the original situation too easily - so this time the Doctor is standing on a landmine for almost the whole episode. "The Villengard Corporation would like to extend its deepest condolences on your upcoming loss. Thoughts and prayers.", Ambulance, "Boom" It's been quite a long time since we've heard about Villengard. We saw it in a state of decay in Capaldi's "Twice Upon A Time" but the most memorable reference was when the Christopher Doctor was talking with Captain Jack about destroying the Villengard weapons factory there and it being replaced with a banana plantation. All Moffat stories of course. "Okay, that isn't an urn. There isn't a body inside of that. That is a body. That is a dead body. Compressed somehow. Like it's been ... I don't know, smelted?", The Doctor, "Boom" That's a pretty nasty thing to be carrying. "She replied, “Young man, don't you know there's more to life than the moon and the President's wife?”, The Doctor, "Boom" And even more references to even more Moffat stores ("The Magician's Apprentice" and "Hell Bent"). "We all melt away in the end, but something stays. Maybe the best part.", The Doctor, "Boom" I think he's breaking the fourth wall here - but perhaps you can argue the eye-line is slightly off. "I will be popping in every now and then. Fish fingers and custard is my favourite. Okay. Come on, Ruby.", The Doctor, "Boom"

Really oustanding episode. Has some shortcomings but I think this is a 10/10 for performances alone. First Steven Moffat episode since Twice Upon a Time. I also want to say about that as well, I get big Twelfth Doctor and Clara vibes from this script. I feel like it's easy to imagine those two in this story.
