"Never seen a TARDIS before?", Mrs Flood, "The Church on Ruby Road" As others have mentioned, you missed the point of the mid-credit scene. Mrs Flood is Ruby's neighbour - so how would she know what a TARDIS was!? "My world was called Gallifrey.", The Doctor, "Space Babies" Yes, this story repeats lots and lots of the introductory material with stuff like the mobile phone and the key from the early New Who Series 1 stories. And even monster content, I suppose, if you wanted to equate the snotty Bogeyman with the bad-taste Slitheen. And the repeated lore is for the same reason, as Stephen said - it wasn't for us experts - new viewers of the new channel need to come up to speed with the Doctor. But, I did think it was over-dense. I liked the Series 1 introductory lore stuff better because it was spread over several shows as the story needed it. "What if I change history by stepping on a butterfly or something?", Ruby, "Space Babies" That was a fun little scene when "Ruby" became "Rubathon Blue of the 57th Hemisphere Hatchlings" due to the death of a butterfly. "I'm just, er, helping babies - space babies.", The Doctor, "Space Babies" I don't mind this Doctor repeating the "Space Babies" line - and the repeating is funny. Also, it was only a grumpy incarnation of the Doctor that said we shouldn't say "Space" when he was being grumpy. "Captain Poppy, when was the last time that you had a hug?", "Never.", The Doctor and Poppy, "Space Babies" Aww. "Noses must be blown. Activate nose-blow.", Nan-E, "Space Babies" I certainly didn't see the twist in that. "I told you, these systems are a crock of ... waste products.", "Mind your language, Nan-E.", Jocelyn and the Doctor, "Space Babies" I like the Nan-E speech filter. "I love Ruby, and she said there's no such thing as the Bogeyman. So I'm going to find the naughty doggo and tell him off.", Eric, "Space Babies" And how sweet is Eric going to confront monster in his buggy with his little sword? "A zillion metric tonnes of methane, babies - space babies.", The Doctor, "Space Babies" I'm normally the first to be annoyed at poor science in Doctor Who and this propulsion by a single venting of a massive cloud isn't good science - but ... it's funny so that's ok. It probably should annoy me more than it does. "Oh, my God! This is the worst thing that has ever happened to anyone!", Ruby after she discovered what had glooped on her, "Space Babies"
