Dr. Who Reaction - The Power of the Doctor

Well........ This was a ROLLERCOASTER of Emotions !!!

Dr. Who Reaction - The Power of the Doctor

Comments

"Unless one of us, or all of us, were really clever. I mean, this is why you manifested here! To remind me there's always a way.", The Doctor, "The Power of the Doctor" As a story, this was engaging enough - but as a vehicle for bringing back our favourite people it was great! "This is an urgent request for immediate assistance!", Train Marshal Halaz, "The Power of the Doctor" I like starting the episode "in media res" - in the middle of another adventure. We saw this when the Doctor and Yaz were hanging from Karvanista's gravity bar at the start of "The Halloween Apocalypse". it shows that the Doctor and her companions are having adventure after adventure - even if we don't see them all. "This is your space train driver Dan reassuring you everything is under control and we will be slowing to a gentle stop momentarily.", Dan, "The Power of the Doctor" Dan was a great, funny companion. "What's happened to this painting?", Ace, "The Power of the Doctor" The return of Sophie Aldred as Ace was a surprise to me - well unless you read the opening titles. It was great for the writer to bring back these Classic Who companions. "A Cyberman! Of all the things, why would the Doctor send me that? That's not a fond memory.", Tegan, "The Power of the Doctor" And Janet Fielding being back as Tegan to be in the episode - wonderful. You had seen her in "Kinda" ("I climbed a tree and dropped apples on his head.") and "Black Orchid". As you would imagine, that quote refers to a Classic story - but not one you've seen. "You think you left and I never thought of you again. I never forget any of you. I remember everything.", Holo-Doctor 5, "The Power of the Doctor" And of course bringing back all the Classic Doctors - you've seen them before in the 50th "The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot" show. "Ow! Oh, you are really staticky.", Ace, "The Power of the Doctor" Nice setup for the nano-implant plot-device that let the companions interact with their Doctors. "Last time I saw you, you were half cat.", Ace, "The Power of the Doctor" Yep, that's true. "Only I have allergies - I'm human-intolerant.", The Master, "The Power of the Doctor" I like bringing back the Master every so often. His plans are always so over-the-top - wonderful! "I was just thinking we could call this the Master's Dalek Plan.", The Master, "The Power of the Doctor" That's a pun of a Classic Who story title - "The Daleks' Master Plan" - ho ho! And a adored the Master wearing various parts of previous Doctor's costumes. And when he takes out the recorder - well that brings back memories of a particular Doctor. "Wicked!", Ace, "The Power of the Doctor" If you bring back a companion you have to bring back their catch-phrase. We get the same with Tegan. "Oh, you, er ... Easy, love. Arnold Palmerson - Volcano inspector.", (reading) "Graham, friend of the Doctor. Former bus driver, worried about the amount of Daleks in here and what he's going to do about it.", Graham and Ace, "The Power of the Doctor" Wonderful to see Graham back. "If you're a friend of the Doctor's, you aren't going to use that.", "I'm freelance.", The Master and Vinder, "The Power of the Doctor" Actually, it was great to see everyone back. "I took them home.", "Did you? That's clever.", "Well, Croydon, so close enough.", Yaz and the Doctor, "The Power of the Doctor" A Doctor Who joke - we remember in "School Reunion", Sarah Jane told the Doctor that he hadn't dropped her off home in Croydon when he had left. This time Yaz drops off everyone in Croydon. I also like the concept of the ex-companion support group - with the opportunity to get more ex-companion cameos. Ian Chesterton, played by William Russell, was a companion from the first ever episode - you had a reaction to "An Unearthly Child". And there are other Classic companions that make me feel good. There's also an empty chair - viewers can fill in whichever companion they would imagine but couldn't be shown - like Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane). "And Introducing David Tennant as The Doctor", End Credits of "The Power of the Doctor" You stopped it a few frames before his credit! I was spoiled for David Tennant being the following Doctor. I had kept myself away from spoilers but I delayed watching the episode for several hours and in the meantime my brother-in-law posted something on Twitter and ... so I worked out what would happen - aaargh! There was a shot of David that I could have used for the IMDB ratings page. But I decided not to for two reasons: first, it would have been a MASSIVE spoiler if you had accidentally pressed the button early; and second, it would have been disrespectful for this story to be only about David - it wasn't, this was a Jodie story. "And I have loved being me.", The Doctor, "The Power of the Doctor" I loved Jodie as the Doctor.

Thank you so umuch for your comment :) I am glad you are enjoying the reactions :) Sorry about the scre at the beginning, I didn´t mean to. I had no idea it would turn out this way. Awww thank you so much for your kind words :) :) Yes my health is not stable at the moment and I´m not having many good days, but whenever I am feeling well enough I do use it, in order to record my reactions. :) Since english is not my native language either, don´t worry about anything :)

The King is Back! I've been following you on YouTube since the beginning and on Patreon since season 4. I was impatient many times, I tried to encourage you to get to the 50th and 60th anniversary episodes as soon as possible, but in the end I'm glad you didn't. So we got here together, mostly spoiler-free. I was also scared when you mentioned in the introduction of the video that you knew the actor playing the next Doctor, but fortunately it wasn't him. David Tennant was the first actor to play multiple Doctor roles, something like that hasn't happened in Doctor Who. But maybe nothing like that has happened in other series, of course "in reverse" yes. I understand your fear of how much it will hurt to lose him again. Just like it hurt me in the case of Rose. BUT in the Doctor Who Universe anything can happen! I recommend you try to deal with the "present" and never give up hope! YOU are the best Doctor Who reactor, at least for me, and the current reaction exceeded all my expectations. I was already worried about your health! The episode made a mixed impression on me too, there were weak and very good parts in it, but it was a good conclusion to the 13th Doctor's era, and the huge surprise at the end was the cherry on the cake. PS: My last sentence may not come across in English, forgive me, English is not my native language.
