I love Capaldi. It´s so strange but I already like him more than I like Matt. Crazy to think about but he´s just the perfect actor for that role imo. I wonder how that relationship will go for Clara. Since he´s a soldier, I guess that we will actually see him as her boyfriend, and that there will be a story developing where the doctor (who doesn´t like soldiers) will have a fight with Clara about that relationship. But who knows :D I agree, I liked this Dalek story as well. :)

Like I said, I don´t know how, but somehow I already fell in love with Capaldi. I think I do already like him more than Matt, which is sooo strange after such a short time span. But it´s also a really nice feeling to be able to enjoy a doctor from the very start. :)

2023-11-06 09:39:37 +0000 UTCI'm so glad you're enjoying Peter Capaldi's performance as the Doctor. I think that, as the first of a new regeneration cycle, he has more trouble "finding himself" and connecting with the people he meets than the others we've seen in New Who. Although the first Doctor did have to be socialised a bit by his first companions. I hope it's ok to say that. I think that in the last episode it was implied that the Doctor had "seen this before" because the robots were the same type as in The Girl in the Mirror but maybe there is another reason too. Clara's new boyfriend is an interesting development. I was trying to think of another companion who has started a new relationship while travelling with their Doctor and could only come up with one name from the classic series. I agree with Jenny that Jenna and Peter have really good chemistry. And I really like this story because, although it has some similarities to Chris's "Dalek" episode, it introduces a lot of new ideas and information about what it means to be a Dalek and it certainly moves along a few aspects of the series arc.

I still enjoyed your commentary, but it’s nice to see your face, it adds so much to your reactions, as it’s so expressive. This is a good episode the doctor is still discovering his new self, it’s nice also to see Clara’s life away from the Tardis. I agree that it’s kind of a repeat of Eccleston’s episode ‘Dalek’ (I just watched another reactor do this one.) the Daleks can (and have) been overused. Which dilutes their effect. But I enjoyed this one. Capaldi is showing his range here. I am so excited to hear that you are already onboard with him. Like previous companions have done, Clara is helping to knock the hard edges off the new doctor, Jenna and Peter seem to have good chemistry. The face thing you mentioned at the beginning, if you think really hard you might unravel some of it. The woman in heaven ah spoilers.
