They (and eren by extension) are okay with seeing children and civilians die because their losses justify it for them. They assassinated the guy at the head of all 3 military branches to gain absolute power in a hostile takeover of the government. Installing Eren at the forefront of their government is about the worst possible decision and shows their violent intentions. Eren from the start has not been a good strategist, has no political intelligence and can’t run a country. He’s literally just a walking weapon. Its like making a sentient nuke our president
