Added 2025-11-15 14:00:21 +0000 UTCWE'RE BAAAAAAAACK. After man months of waiting we got to return to the HUNGER GAMES world! I'm glad we waited a bit so we weren't directly comparing the films. This one is way different. I love the time shift vibe of it, all the seeding of what would become the "modern day" Hunger Games. Ugh I hate Snow even more at the end of the day, and I knew I was going to while watching π Very excited for the new Installment and we'll definitely be watching with ya'll first time <3

Snow in the book is very narcissistic. Since the book is completely from his POV you really get to see his thoughts. Like at some point when he's serving in 12, he thinks to himself that it would've been better for him if Lucy Gray was kept in a cage like in the Capitol before games, cuz that way he could always keep an eye on her at all times. Then there are lots of times he sees Lucy as his object and something belonging to him. He has loootts of narcissistic thoughts, I remember this big monologue of him in the book when he's in 12, he thinks he's the best among humanity, and that he doesn't deserve to spend his life in 12 as that would be a waste of talent. Because he's a genius he needs to be in the capitol, not in the woods like this like cattle, or something along that line. He also hates the mockingjays in the books, like REALLY hates them. I was so surprised by this because they are just mimicking the tune of a human's voice, whereas Jabberjays literally mimick the entire words of humans. If anything Jabberjays seem more creepier. But I believe its because he thinks that mockingjays are not supposed to exist. Jabberjays were sent by the capitol to control the districts, and eventually were left there to die, but a new species of birds emerged from them that thrive in the districts, even when they're not supposed to. And these are mockingjays. This shatters his illusion that humanity/districts can be controlled. Mockingjays existing means Capitol cannot control everything. They are an anomaly. And this really pisses him off.
