I believe it is some kind of anti-social narcissistic disorder. She has been this way since she was very young. As a child, she used to find strangers and tell them lies about her family making herself an abuse victim or a neglect victim, or a hero,.... People like this are EXTREMELY convincing. I even went through a period where my own mom turned against ME over things she said. Thankfully, Mom figure it out. I've learned that the way you deal with a person like this if you can't just stay away from them, is that you A. never take anything they say at face value B. never bother to challenge them on their lies. The weird thing is that she can be very caring and fiercely protective when you need it, but when things are fine, she has to create drama. Also, she has difficulty maintaining relationships and nothing is EVER her fault. She always has to be in control. You wonder how this woman can be in this documentary and act totally normal and not give herself away? It's because that is how these kind of people are. I guarantee you she has new people in her life now who believe she is a victim in all this. The way the daughter reacts is not a surprise to me having been brought up by a person like this. You may not see it as obvious from the video, but the woman is a hard core control freak. The daughter's non-reactive attitude on the video is a likely a learned coping behavior. Believe NOTHING that this woman said after she was outed. I would bet my next year's salary that the story about being raped as a teen is BS. That is the kind of thing a person like this comes up with to try to make themselves the victim. I've lived it.

These people are MASTERMIND manipulators and play the perfect victims. It took my mom well into her FOURTIES before she was free of my grandmother's mind games. I personally believe Lauryn had suspicions it was her mom, but these narcissists will have you second guessing yourselves even when the proof is in front of you. She honestly needs some SERIOUS separation from Kendra.
