JK Simmons does amazing, but every VA in this show is top notch. I really think this is the most underrated aspect of LoK as a whole. I mean, JK Simmons not withstanding, we have THE Mindy Sterling as Lin Beifong and Maria Bamford as Pema. And all the regulars give award worthy performances in my book

I went into it with an open mind that it was something different and its own thing and loved every season! So glad to see yβall are enjoying it too!

2025-02-09 08:21:09 +0000 UTCIt always surprises me, because when season 2 came out I pretty much though all the hate was the same crowd that had been hating on the show since the moment they saw concept art, now seeing read because of the past avatar wipe. But a lot of new people do seem to viscerally hate it too. I don't think I'll ever really get it myself. I love this season, I'd put it below s3&4 but above s1.

I PROMISE you will be hooked cause its not just peak avatar, but in my opinion, animation at its finest in terms of storytelling. The next season is so gritty that for me its actually why I overall enjoy Legend of Korra more than the original avatar

Korra lost her connection of the past avatars... this isnt random or coincidence. 10000 years passed, korra was always meant to be the last avatar of this cycle, and she'll be the first of a new cycle. You can see in episode 11 when jinora is in the avatar statue room, that aang's statue was placed at the very end of the swirl near the center... symbolizing korra is to be the last avatar of this cycle. its a huge loss imo makes this season a great watch. Korra is still a reincarnation of her past lives, but she wont be able to talk to them anymore. People shit on korra and I dont get it....look at villain she was fighting... the villain that the very first avatar faught. huge shoes to fill and she did it.
