I really like that song that Pod sings. You should watch "Florence and the Machine" sing it on YouTube or any other music channel. It is great. And, yes, that sure did give "Titanic" vibes. It was very strange watching Arya get romantic with Gendry, because I have watched her grow up on this show. I think she had just turned 18 before this Episode. She did have a lot of scars. I couldn't watch them get hot and heavy together, even though it didn't show their naughty parts. Eeew. Tormund is too funny. Daenerys immediately looked evil when Jon told her that he was Rhaegar's Son. I think he picked an awful time to tell her. She might have just took her army back for that. I don't know why she didn't other than she wanted him to be a back-up Heir, if she dies in this Battle. I don't think that is why though...Lol. @SNBAngtan I won't bother to get into the political stuff, but I'll simply respond to the beginning of your post by directing you to the beginning of season 6; episode 9 with a quote directly from Dany herself and it goes, "shall we begin? I will crucify the masters, I will set their fleets a fire, kill every last one of their soldiers, and RETURN THEIR CITIES TO THE DIRT!" I hope you know that innocent civilians and slaves lived in those same cities that she was planning to "return to the dirt". 🤣🤣🤣 It didn't feel like any of her behavior was sudden but a slow progression to me. 🤷🏽‍♀️ From season to season it just progressed and it came out more and more (to me). But hey, let's just say that your opinion differs from mine and agree to disagree. I'm ok with that!! I can take debating a show and I enjoyed this one. However, what cracks me up are the individuals who get boiling mad over a fictional show and want to start calling names, cursing, and ready to kill someone. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It was sudden. Like not the acts, but the motivations. Her PHILOSOPHIES and VALUES seemed to change overnight. She's always been just and had an eye-for-an-eye sense of fairness that had to be tempered by her counsel but she always understood that her impulses needed that pushback and sought counsel she knew would do it. She never ever had any inclination to hurt the innocent. To slaughter them for her own personal gain. To conquer the world just for the sake of ruling it. She always wanted to help the downtrodden and she stood up for them at great personal cost since she was basically a child. Even if her instinct wasn't mercy, she understood the value of it and was more lenient than most royals of her time in exercising it. And she always tried diplomacy first--offering compromise, thinking strategically, building alliances. And then there was just a hard left turn where she was suddenly deaf to all counsel and driven by rage and a desire for power--not a desire to fix a broken system or to have what was rightfully her's--a desire to conquer and rule at all costs. That was a new Dany. I think a lot of characters in the series took hard left turns that weren't really accounted for--Arya, Bran, Jamie, Tyrion, Tormund, etc--but none besmirched the character as much as Dany's. And also, I think the public response to the unexplained turn was due to the political climate of the time, too. I'm in DC and was working on the Hill and going to law school when it was airing and so were most of my friends, and it was hard not to draw parallels between Jon and Dany and "the man of the people, Bernie/Trump" and "the entitled bitch who is out of touch and power-hungry, Hillary." We literally called the Season 8 arc the "Hillarification of Dany Targaryan." So beyond the unexplained, unjustified left turn in her motivations and values, I really think the political climate made people feel more betrayed that a strong, beloved female leader was so harshly vilified to the benefit of her male counterparts. Women needed a hero, we had one, and she was made into a monster by the men around her. I don't think I'll ever get over it.

@Izattyi I think you need to go back and read my comment again. I NEVER said what everyone else did was acceptable. In fact, I never mentioned or made reference to all the stuff ANY of them did. I for 1 have ALWAYS said they ALL did some f'd up stuff throughout this series. What I did point out in my post was the fact that Dany's behavior wasn't sudden. It just wasn't. @Izattyl - Thank you!!! She has done nothing worse in this story than most of the other beloved characters. And more than that, she's done WAY more good than any other character in the show. How many people did she free? And she didn't owe them anything...she wasn't their queen, she wasn't even one of them...she just believed slavery was wrong and risked her own life and her goals to free them! But because she wants something, because she feels entitled to the throne born to her and wants to claim it, we demonize her! Because we live in a world where we HATE women who WANT things. John meanwhile is getting praised for being so mediocre...I mean, he never had any ambition at all, he was a garbage leader who got killed by his own men because he didn't have a diplomatic bone in his body, he lost every battle he ever fought in and had to be saved by others, and even knowing that diplomacy and strategy was his weak point, continued to operate as a blunt instrument almost getting people killed meanwhile his besties are praising him for bare minimum stuff Dany's been doing since she was 14!!! The writers did her so dirty and public opinion bought it because it gave them the ick that a woman would dare say what half the men in the show already had: "I want the throne."

Theon is my favorite character in the whole show and Alfie Allen should have won all the awards for his portrayal. There were a lot of characters that had wild arcs and are different people now then they were at the beginning--Arya, Bran, Jamie--and Theon is the only one who was the same /person/ the whole way through. It's like Alfie went into the role at the start totally understanding the motivations and flaws and fears of the character and anchored himself in them through everything that happened to him. Theon Greyjoy is such a well fleshed-out and fully realized character and he was so thoroughly believable in everything. Which made him sympathetic, too. Whether you hated him, pitied him, loved him...you understood him and had an emotional connection to him. Every time I rewatch GOT, I appreciate him even more. Theon's redemption and his relationship with Sansa is a bright spot in this entire series for me. He's so scarred and scared and all he's ever wanted to do was belong and be enough and I'm so grateful he gets to feel that a little with Sansa after everything he's been through.

Its because there was always a "justification" for all of her psychotic actions. She showed no emotion when her brother was killed with molten gold, her only response was "He wasn't really a dragon, dragons cant be burned" or something along those lines, but he was abusive to her so its ok. She threatened to one day burn Qarth to ashes, but they were refusing to assist her when she needed it. She left two people in a vault to starve to death, but they were trying to steal her dragons so fuck them. She crucified the slave owners of Meereen, but they were slave owners who did the same thing to children so fuck them as well. She burned all the Khal alive at the Temple of Dosh Khaleen, but their traditions were bad so whatever. Like she's been doing fucked up shit for YEARS.

I find it hilarious when people say that Daenerys had a character arc because she didn't. I wish someone would put together ALL of the scenes that laid the bread crumbs showing that she was destined to turn out the way that she did just as they created the R+L=J. Otherwise, people will continue to ignore the signs; just as they did throughout the series that John was a Targareyn. "Eveytime a Targareyn is born, the Gods flip a coin and the world holds its breath"! There are sooooooo many scenes and statements that were made throughout the entire series that showed how she would be, BUT people chose to ignore it because they liked her so much!! 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm happy to see that Cody and Bridget get it. I'm also glad that they are not wearing blinders and they are not allowing others opinions to shape theirs. They did not jump aboard the I don't understand why this is happening, so I'm going to hate the last season because it didn't end the way I wanted it to train. And good for them!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Tyrion is referring to when Aegon conquered the Seven Kingdoms, and Torrhen Stark was forced to kneel to him. Aegon had just obliterated Harrenhal (which was thought to be impregnable and indestructible), and killed thousands during the Field of Fire. Torrhen Stark knew his army stood no chance, and surrendered. He quite literally forced their surrender on the threat of total annihilation. That’s what happened the last time Targaryen’s threatened the Stark’s with dragons. The writers aren’t making things up, you’re just uneducated on the subject it seems.

Yeah guys I agree I was uncomfortable seeing Arya in a sex scene. I know the actress is over 18 but in my mind she’s still like 10 years old. Didn’t need to see that. Much more comfortable with Jon and Dany’s accidental incest. Tormund kills it in every scene he is in and I absolutely love that Brienne was knighted.

the stupid tyrion and aggressive daenerys character arc is one that will devastate me, they were my favs . I loved the song Podrick sang and I tragically learned it's based on Targaryen lore. Basically one Targaryen Prince fell in love with a common girl, Jenny of Oldstones. He even gave up the throne but during the Burning of Summerhall he died and no one knows what happened to Jenny but many believe like the song says, she went mad and danced with his ghost. The burning of Summerhal was also the same day Daenerys brother, Rhaegar was born. So in GOT timeline that song and story is like 30-40 years old
