STRANGER THINGS [4x4] | EXTENDED REACTION

The best episode of Stranger Things.

STRANGER THINGS [4x4] | EXTENDED REACTION

Another thing rewatching this in regards to what I said about the final scene and depression and overcoming suicidal thoughts, the barrier opening up is literally “the light at the end of the tunnel” seeing her memories, then seeing her friends trying to save her, never leaving her, THEY are her light at the end of the tunnel.

Chrissy

It’s crazy how that Max scene still gets me emotional

Lorena Oliveira

Fun Fact : You guys are the best reactors ever 😁

Rob Ross

Just joined Patreon. I love watching a show with you guys (in a non creepy way 🤗) you always me laugh so much. You're doing Game of Thrones! I can't wait, you're going to love it. I'd love also to see you review HBO's Chernobyl. It's only 5 episodes, but everyone should see it. Totally different to what you normally watch but seriously brilliant!

Not many people realize that Petey McHugh in Robins story is the same Petey that Steve mentions in season 3 when they’re stuck in the elevator and he says to Dustin, “what are you going to do? Have Petey the mall cop rappel down here??” 😂😂

Chrissy

These reactions are so good, but the wait is like torture!

Alex Lee

The actor that plays Enzo (Dimitri) is actually plays a character in Game of Thrones! I am excited to see y’all watch that show soon, too!

Jillian

It’s just so ridiculously good

Joshua Rogers

It's been such a fun ride reliving this with you both!

Chance's House Of Horror

"Don't tell me the cure for this is copyrighted!!" 🤣

Fun fact: The Duffer brothers who write and created the show actually didn’t approach Robert Enguland for the role as Victor, Robert heard about the role and being a fan of Stranger Things put together an audition tape and sent it to the Duffers. They gave him the role on the spot. You’re absolutely correct about the heavy nods to Nightmare on Elm Street. Also nods to the movie “It”. And I don’t think it’s said enough, but Sadie Sink who plays Max is absolutely phenomenal this season, she knocks it out of the park.

Chrissy

love it!! cant wait for the rest of the season ❤

Luke Thomson

So many great things about this episode. I also just love the production value of this season. I couldn't wait for you guys to see Robert Englund. Did you notice we are first introduced to him by him scratching his nails on the desk (chef's kiss*). Also the scene with Max and Billy, the actor that plays Billy, Dacre, was in Australia so they actually shot both the actors separately. I just think that's so amazing because they both gave an amazing performance and the other wasn't even there. Another thing that so many people have commented on was how this season deals with depression. My favorite thing I saw someone post about Max at the end of this was that "your friends can be there for you and help you but it's up to you to make that choice yourself to overcome it. The thoughts of her friends helped but it was Max that made the run to pull herself out".

Corey

He’s not the voice of vecna and anything related to vecna needs to stay spoiler free for them

Joshua Johnson

Season 4 is by far the best season and I can’t wait to see you guys react to what’s coming?

Joshua Johnson

Jordan

the way i always cry at max's running up that hill scene. perfect song choice.

Kayla

Yep, TV doesn't get much better than that episode.

LazyArtist

Wow. Genuine trauma.

It’s both the dumbest thing I’ve ever edited and the most proud thing I’ve ever edit 😂

BRIDGECO

When the screen cut to black as Max was running, my nephew dropped his cereal. My two brothers and I swore it was cracking bones. We...., well they gasped and I kind of screamed slightly. And accidently scared my nephew. He cried and ran. Of course this is when it came out last yr. He's okay now but traumatized and hates what Stranger Things did to his uncles and father. Sigh...

Gary Arceneaux

Excited for episode 5!

Jay

taking some pen rips with you Cody!!!! Watching now...

Cody Jado

If you haven’t already started to catch on, ‘Vecnas Curse’ is really just a metaphor for depression, and when you think abt that with the Max scene it just makes it even better

Gunnar

also that lotr edit had me rollin

jadespademarmalade

So much happened in this episode , one min there's calm then within seconds so much action unpacked 😆 ..

Rob Ross

Dude , I’ve seen this episode sooo many times and I still yell, “Run Max!” and tear up at the end.

This is my “heavy” post. I have struggled with depression my whole adult life. When I first saw the ending of this episode, I cried like I havent cried in a long time. To me, it is Max dealing with depression and trauma. Vecna has always, to me, been a metaphor for suicide. When he thinks you are at your worst, at you end, and your weakest, he comes for you. Max having flashbacks of her friends, leading up to her happiest memory, which was her first kiss with Lucas at the Snowball, are what pulled her out. That she wanted to live, she had people who love her, who want her to fight. So she fought against Vecna and literally ran for her life. He doesn’t stop her because she fought again him. She was stronger in that moment, love and friendship had won over his hold on her. When she’s running and he curls his hand, that’s his last attempt to stop her, making rocks fall from the sky, as many depressed people would say in their lives, “sometimes it feels like the world is falling down around me” and that’s literally what he’s making happen, but she fought through and made it because her will to live was stronger than any thoughts she had of dying. That particular song choice, lyrically, was so important and so perfect. Also, the final shot, where it shows Steve and Dustin with their heads bowed over Max, reminds me of the picture of the “silhouette of praying angels”. Beautiful scene.

Chrissy

As a person with autism I can say that Robin definitely has it

hulda marín

God, even knowing how it ended up, I was tearing up watching you two!

Ana Fox

Steve is the big brother Max always needed……and I’m pretty sure her letter to him will tell him that.

Chrissy

Man like I said before. This is my favorite season out of all the seasons. It’s amazing to see all of these kids grow up in front of our eyes over these past years and to see what they blossomed into at the young ages in this season, is outstanding. Each one of them should win an award. SERIOUSLY. I just finished this video and I too got emotional and teary eyed. This goes to show how much music can put an impact on a form of entertainment! Anyways as always, it was a pleasure to spend a hour of my life today watching this video you guys.
