2024-01-10 03:08:23 +0000 UTCThe other sad thing with Billy’s scene when El is getting through to him before he sacrifices himself to the Mindflayer, Is that the memory of his mom IS his only one good memory but in the end she left him too when she abandoned him (remember in the storm young Billy was on the phone begging her to come back) with his abusive dad because his dad was abusing her and she just left him but he still held onto that memory because that’s all he had. Sad. Billy’s actions were unforgivable through season 2 but it always has a source, a beginning, and for him, it was his dad.

Season 4 is incredible, it ramps up the horror and it’s just an amazing season. You guys will love it. I hope you get to it very soon and get through it as quickly as possible :)

2023-04-03 15:39:42 +0000 UTCThis finale is fantastic. The letter broke me, still does. The shots of the Mindflayer in the mall when the fireworks hit it and it kills Billy, are amazing. Beautiful cinematography. When Millie who plays El is crying reading the letter, those tears are 100% real because that was the first time Millie actually read the letter. Billy sacrificed himself for El, she broke through to him. Some people are divided on this, but that’s where I stand on it. Now imagine, we had to wait nearly 3 YEARS to find out what happens to Hopper. On to my favorite season, season 4 is epic.

2023-04-03 15:28:56 +0000 UTCThe series creators really did screw up with Billy as a character, I think - they wanted him to be racist and had him dropping all sorts of slurs in the scripts, but Dacre Montgomery (who plays Billy) really pushed back against it and wanted more of a human story with Billy in s3 and he got it, but the Duffers also didn't do anything about the issues between Billy and Max and Lucas from the previous season, which left lots of people confused. All that behind the scenes mess doesn't take a single thing away from Dacre's performance, though - his work with Millie and Sadie this season was exceptional. And I'm so glad you got to see the trailer for s4 right away so you didn't have to fret over what happened to Hop until you started the next volume - we had to wait something like a year and a half or more before we got that trailer lol
