The Rise of the Winter Wolf - Book 4 - Chapter 10 - New Changes

“That wasn’t too hard,” I mutter to myself while glancing at the crushed remains of the golem half of the boss, only for it to disappear and be replaced with a chest.
Just like the forums said, the golem became a hell of a lot squishier after I dealt with the weird face – which was honestly kind of gross to the touch. Kind of like a mixture between jelly, slime, and skin.
Although, what the forums didn’t mention was that the thing would go berserk once the face was dealt with.
Which would have been nice to know, but it’s fine.
I shake my head at the thought before glancing at Sapphire who is already shrinking down to her normal, tiny size again while approaching me. She then hops directly into my shadow and lets out a relieved sigh.
That’s still unfair.
I turn back towards the chest before reaching out and touching it, causing the description of some sort of fire-power related skill to appear.
Well, that’s not exactly an unexpected reward, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s useless to me.
After reaching out to take the skill orb anyways, I look up at the opposite side of the room. Or more specifically, at the exit sitting at the end of a bridge that wasn’t there a minute ago.
Did that bridge extend after I killed it? And if it did, how did it do it so quietly?
I stare at it for a second before deciding to not question it and instead make my way over towards the exit.
It isn’t until I get within several meters of the exit that I notice a difference between it and the normal exit.
Is the crescent moon glowing red because it’s the tenth theme…?
Because that doesn’t look welcoming at all.
Once I get within a couple of feet of the exit, I search it for any other differences, only to fail to find any.
Why do I get the feeling that going through this exit is going to be sending out a notification to everyone in the dungeon…?
Sapphire suddenly screeches in a rather adorable manner from my shadow, taking my attention away from the door for a second.
Well, either way. Change isn’t always a bad thing.
And with that thought in mind, I reach forwards to touch the exit before being teleported in the usual green flash of light.

The very first thing I notice on the next floor is the much nicer temperature. Which makes sense, since I’m not in a volcanic cavern anymore.
After that, the next thing I notice is the absolute silence permeating the area around me.
There’s no wind moving through the trees or bushes around me. No animal sounds. No nothing.
And finally, my attention turns straight towards the large temple standing in front of me, surrounded by a bunch of trees in what looks like the middle of a forest.
Right as I’m about to lower the soundproofing on my headphones to see if I can hear anything further away, a notification appears in the middle of my interface.

I clench my jaw slightly at the changes.
There goes my easy access to buyable skills.
Although, with my breaking away from the System, I guess I don’t really need that anymore. The skills at least. I could still use the items, but most of them aren’t that good when compared to the ones in the auction anyways. And I have a limited number of the same type of equipment that I can put on, so the higher quality ones are much better.
The store aside, that viewer-decided boss thing doesn’t look very nice. Because I know there are going to be people who are going to be choosing powerful monsters.
And that’s not going to be fun.
But at least I’m not required to fight them.
So there’s that at least.
As for the new special floors?
That actually sounds kind of interesting. And I’m willing the bet some of them might be shorter than the normal floors as well.
I’m not looking forward to that Centurion boss though.
I glance downwards as Sapphire jumps out of my shadow with a slight purr.
“You’re not the one who had to deal with the heat,” I mutter after bonking her on the back of her head, causing her to look up at me and tilt her head in a rather adorable manner.
With a single eyebrow raised at her actions, I turn my attention towards my headphones before lowering the soundproofing.
It takes me lowering it all the way down to just 40% for me to finally begin to hear something.
Something that sounds like extremely quiet footsteps.
I turn around towards the source, only to squint my eyes and barely manage to see something moving through the shrubbery a few dozen meters away.
How is that not making any sound…?
My thoughts are interrupted as some sort of golem steps out of the shrubbery.
Uh… okay then.
That’s not something I’ve seen yet. The golem boss notwithstanding, seeing as that was a magma covered rock in the shape of a human with eyes, while this is…
Not that.

Administrator Dungeon Notification
This is a notification to every competitor in the Administrator Dungeon.
The leading competitor, ‘The Winter Wolf,’ has officially reached the ninety-first floor!
Thanks to this, more details about the dungeon shall be revealed.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Starting on the ninety-first floor:
Special floors will be added to the dungeon. These floors are all different from the usual floors, and while they still follow their current floor theme, they do not fit in with the theme’s ‘category’.
One example of this would be the monster house floor, where the entire floor consists of multiple enormous room full of nothing but monsters, with no actual mini boss or boss.
The Expanded System Stores will be removed and instead replaced with Basic Stores. These Basic Stores will only contain consumables and daily necessities, with no items or skills available to be purchased.
On every tenth floor theme:
The monsters of the floors will all be stronger monsters than the ones on the previous floors.
The fifth floor of the theme will have a viewer-decided special boss roaming around the map. This boss will be slightly stronger than a normal boss, but still a lot weaker than an event boss. It also must still fit the theme of the floor.
Access to the Basic Store is prohibited on the Centurion floor – otherwise known as the last floor of every tenth theme.
The Centurion floor has only five exits, with a Centurion Boss guarding each of the exits.
Each of these Centurion Bosses is one hundred levels above the second highest level monster of the floor and has two mini bosses serving as their bodyguards.

Good luck to all competitors and may only the strongest survive.
