I really liked this episode. :)

Dr. Who Series 5 - Amy´s Choice

I really like it, too :) Even more than the Angels one :) I agree that the "monsters" weren´t really needed, but I had fun with that story to be honest. It felt really dreamy because it seemed so out of this world, I think it was great to have them in the episode even if they weren´t really needed. I am so curious wether we will discover this dark side of the doctor even more in the future. We had glimpses in several episodes, and I enjoyed it so much every single time :) Thank you :)

He played the Dreamlord really well. I enjoyed him so much :)

I absolutely get why this is one of your favorite Doctor Who stories, since it immediately became my favorite episode this series (up until this point of course) :) But it´s a great one, and I really hope we´ll get more of that dreamy stuff in the future :)

Thank you for staying very vague with your description of the Dreamlord. I love the feeling of this mystery and wondering wether we will ever find out, what is really behind it all. :) "This is not a Latin American Telenovela" :D :D That is sooo true :D I´m also glad she made a decision. And I´m glad she chose Rory. :) This is one of my favorite episode, too. Well, up until this point :D We´ll see what this series has to offer us in the future :)

Awww you took something that I said to start the comment. That is so funny and very unexpected :D :D I liked the story, too. :) And it feels as if there is more to this Dreamlord, whoever he really is. I am so excited to maybe see him again one day :) Thank you for clarifying who wrote the story. I like how it felt like something that Moffat could have written, even if it was written by someone else. Hahaha yes I totally belive that he got rid of the manual, because he disagreed with it. :D Even if I don´t understand why he didn´t just put it somewhere, in case of an emergency? Oh thank you for that hint about Torchwood, that is so true. :) Hahaha, I wasn´t the only one thinking that the guy in the camper was David? :D That is so funny. I thought this was just my brain playing tricks on me. :D

"Is that a future thing or a dream of something?", Nicole, 30 seconds into the reaction to "Amy's Choice". This is a good story - with an interesting focus on Amy's relationships with Rory and the Doctor. And there is a bit of a mystery about what was happening - it's just that the eventual explanation of the mystery (that it was accidentally caused by some psychic pollen getting heated up) is a bit weak to me. Was there ever really an actual threat? However, I wonder if the story were different - say, the dreams were being caused an actual alien "Dream Lord", then I think the mystery part would be better - but Amy's choice stuff would seem much less important. I think Steven Moffat has a writing credit on IMDB because he was the show runner - and I'm sure he had strong editorial impact on the season's scripts - but the writer of the episode was Simon Nye. It's funny that we discover the Doctor had thrown the TARDIS instruction manual into a supernova because he disagreed with it. I can believe that. I'm not sure about River and the landing noise stuff, but I can believe that he could do that to the instruction manual. "Then what is the point of you?", Amy Pond, "Amy's Choice". We've heard this, or something very much like it in Torchwood - "End of Days" when Gwen is raging at Jack after Rhys "dies". Other viewers have wondered whether the man in the camper-van was David as well - it isn't. "You've swallowed a planet!", The Doctor, "Amy's Choice"

I don't think the Doctor was lying about the Dream Lord. But that doesn't mean we'll never see that villain again. If it's the dark reflection of the Doctor's mind then it can always comeback in the future, can't it? I really love Toby Jones' performance as the Dream Lord. He roasted the hell out of our crew and delivered all the lines deliciously. This was also a very needed episode for Amy. We don't want to drag out a potential love triangle any longer. This is not a Latin American Telenovela. I'm glad she chose Rory in the end, even if it required Rory to die. This doesn't mean Amy and Rory will have a perfect relationship from now on but at least the big question of "Does Amy even want to be with Rory?" is sufficiently answered, in my opinion. This is low key one of my favorite episodes of the season. The whole concept is amazing and it has a great villain performance. It also meaningfully changes the status quo for our characters. My only complaint is that the old people aliens looked kind of dumb but that's more of a nitpick. I rate it 9/10.

This is one of my favourite episodes/stories from all of "Doctor Who". Simon Nye, the writer, was best known for comedy; but then, so was Steven Moffat. Amy's line to the Doctor, "Then what is the point of you?", is truly brutal. Although a popular companion, I think Amy, and Karen Gillan's acting, have both nevertheless tended to be under-rated. Overall, a 4.5 out of 5 from me.

Toby Jones, who played the Dream Lord, is always worth watching. He's one of those actors who you can never predict what sort of thing he'll turn up in next!

I love this episode. Not quite as much the Angels ones but it's up there in the same area. Very uncomfortable watching the violence against the (apparently) old people but everything else was fantastic. The concept, the dilemma about the two worlds and the choice that Amy is being forced to make. The fact that she chooses to risk dying rather than live in a world where Rory has already gone. The fact that The Doctor goes along with this idea. All very intense and we hardly needed the monsters at all. The jeopardy could have been almost anything and it would have worked. I don't think The Doctor was dying btw. He has a dark side. We all do. And the Dream Lord knew more about him than anyone else could have done. Great reaction.
