Thank you so much for your opinion. I enjoyed reading it a lot :) Thank you for telling me the name of the show. I´m gonna look it up on Youtube. I´m really curious how this worked. It sounds funny. :) No dog poo in your Facebook group, that´s great. I would leave immidiately, too :D I´ve never heard of "Whip rounds", thank you for letting me know. :) I would buy my own drinks, too :) I like the thought of the umbrella beeing your Talisman, that´s funny :) Also I think it´s really cute that you apologize to objects when you bump into them. :) That´s really polite :) I´d love to try one of those vegan sandwiches one day, whenever I get the opportunity again to travel to the UK :)

You´re right, i don´t think my Patreons are not representative, but nonetheless I´m very interested in your opinion about the topics :) Awww that sign is cute :) Thank you for sharing :) Haha yes talks about the weather are pretty omnipresent on our planet :D

It's possible that the sample of your patrons are not representative of the world's population or perhaps Lucy is not completely representative of the British. I'm not sure that many of these apply to me - I'm not on Facebook, I don't drink in pubs, I don't have an umbrella (the sign near the airport is not called the "Wellington Blown Away" because of all the calm, windless days we experience). https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/Wellington_blown_away_sign.jpg I suspect small talk involving weather has probably been in use since our species had enough spare time to have small talk.

I've never watched Gogglebox but I have seen short clips from it on other comedy and panel game shows. Which means that I have watched people in a tv studio, watching people in their homes, watching tv programmes. Which is beyond meta. I'm a member of a WhatsApp group for my own street and a Facebook Group for my dad's street and I have never seen anything about dog poo. Especially not pictures thank god. If I did, I would leave the group immediately. Rounds are the work of the devil. But not as bad as "whip rounds" where everyone puts in some money into the kitty and all the drinks are bought from that fund. I would ignore them and wander off to buy my own drink while people are arguing about whether they should pay the same as Fred who always wants a large scotch when they only want a lemonade etc.. I am old and I try to always carry an umbrella because it is a magical talisman which means that if I carry it there will be no rain and if I don't carry it, there will be a lot. American have to out their eggs in the fridge because they wash their eggs before selling them. Which makes them look cleaner but removes and outer layer or cuticle that protects against salmonella. Talking about the weather is universal I think/ Scone rhymes with stone for me. And the jam goes on first because cream on top is lovely. She's wrong about them both. But I think the woman in the video is in the majority about the pronunciation I think. We do say tomaaato in Britain but nobody ever says Potaaato outside of the old "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" song. I think the "ending a conversation" thing varies within any country. Some are good at it and some are bad. I don't think any country is uniquely bad at it. I say "sorry" to inanimate objects when I bump into them. I think the sandwich thing is fairly recent. It used to be much more limited. Now you see much more variety than when I was young. Including vegetarian and vegan options like hummus and falafel or avocado, And the "meal deal" thing is very popular as the snack can be anything from crisps to pieces of fruit. All in far too much plastic of course.
