Torchwood Season 4 - Escape to LA

Thank you for telling me how the synchronisation worked out for you. i´m going to leave the slice for future videos and will also start using it in Dr. Who and every other reaction :) Yes I remember the John Smith part from Dr. Who :) All the political stuff in this show is gruesome, but some things are worse than others, that´s true.

Thank you for telling me how it worked out for you :) I´m going to continue with the sclice on the right side of the footage, since you told me it helps :) I hope the next video will be just as easy to synch :)

1. "x1.04 rate to stay in sync with my Blu-ray." That might even work for me. Fortunately, I have both 24 and 25 fps versions! 2. "the video slice on the right-hand-side was useful in getting back on track - thanks!" It fell out of sync for me too, but only because my modem restarted. Thank you Vodafone... If you hadn't written the right lane, I wouldn't have noticed. In summary: Everything is OK! Except they're still not broadcasting another season of Torchwood... But maybe there can be a change in this too

"I can't look at your hands without thinking about what they did.", Jilly Kitzinger about Danes, "Torchwood: Miracle Day - Escape to L.A." First, to get the administrative stuff out of the way, I had to run the reaction at the x1.04 rate to stay in sync with my Blu-ray. I paused the reaction video at one point and the video slice on the right-hand-side was useful in getting back on track - thanks! Captain Jack with his coat at Venice Beach - that's a great image. And more heist/thriller stuff - lots of fun there. I liked the Torchwood contact lens faking the retina scan - that's quite a clever idea from the writers. Captain Jack uses the alias "John Smith" which we've seen the Doctor use in "School Reunion" and "Midnight" among others stories (actually from all the way back in Classic Who). Have we seen a death more gruesome than the "Dead is Dead" politician woman - don't answer that because we probably have and we don't need to remember it - but seeing just her eye was still pretty nasty. "You are so never doing that accent again.", Captain Jack, "Torchwood: Miracle Day - Escape to L.A."

The mix ups about what is the UK and what is England are inevitable. We are a very strange nation, made up of three countries (or possibly a country made up of three nations) and a small bit of another one, i.e. Northern Ireland. It confuses us sometimes although it is the English people (like me) who are most likely to say England when we really mean Britain or the UK. And the Scottish and Welsh are much more likely to be annoyed when we do it! I won't go into the difference between Britain and the UK or we would still be here next year............

I can understand why you would feel different about this season. Because it really is different, as I mentioned it in my review. It´s a very drastic change to be honest, and it could have gone both ways back then. Do you know wether the show was cancelled because of the different tone, and people didn´t watch it anymore. Or if it was for another reason? I´ve never seen Mission Impossible, but I know what it is about and I understand why it reminds you of that. :) I don´t know either, if there are any Welsh subscriber. I always mix up England and the UK in my videos. I don´t do this on purpose, but when I record videos, I just talk without thinking much sometimes. :D I don´t mean to offend anyone though. Thank you for pointing it out, maybe I´ll learn some day, if people remind me over and over again :D

Memory tells me that I didn't enjoy this series as much as the previous one because of the change of tone brought about by the American input. And because they obviously wanted to think of a huge epic set up and moral dilemma to outdo the previous one. That last point is no reason to dislike it of course but I never claimed to be completely logical. In any case watching it all again now I realise that my memory is faulty because there is so much to enjoy. So much tension and so many fascinating characters, good and bad. And very bad. I never saw Ocean's 11 so the scenes with Jack and Gwen getting the biometric data and then carrying out their mission reminded me of Mission Impossible. I mean the old TV series as I never saw those films either. I did have one reaction that I know was the same as last time. I managed to convince myself that the woman playing Ellis Hartley Monroe was the British actor who played the school matron in Human Nature/Family of Blood. And her grand daughter at the end of The End of Time. So I looked her up for the second time and of course I was wrong. She's an American actor called Mare Winnington. I'll probably do the same thing next time too. I don't know if you have any Welsh subscribers but if so they will not be amused to hear you say that Rhys is in England! Very proud people, the Welsh. And quite right too I will add, hastily.
