WHO’S READY FOR SOME NAKED PEOPLE
I’ve been going to figure drawing classes since the beginning of August! It’s something Souppy has been suggesting for.. literally years? I think the sketchpad he bought specifically for me to attend these classes was bought in 2015.
WELL NOW I’M DOING IT, and every week I’ll post my progress for you guys!! With some commentary here and there, and you can see everything!! Even my biggest blunders :-[ LET THIS BE A LEARNING EXPERIENCE, because drawing people is hard and drawing people is pain and I gotta fight through the pain.
The way the class (which is completely self-directed) goes is you start with 1 minute poses, then 2, then 5, then 10, then 20, then there’s a big break, then 2 minute poses again, then 5, then a 40-minute pose spread between 20 minute intervals. And there you go!!
These earlier weeks weren’t well-archived, so I don’t completely remember when I started doing different poses, but this’ll get more informative over time. HERE WE GO
So as with all these classes, it starts with 1-minute drawings:

You can see how chicken-scratchy this is, I haven’t done figure drawing since my time at COFA, which was 2011 :-[ So I am absolutely rusty

“oH GOD STOP DRAWING THE HEAD SO BIG”

I thought his hair was neat. I think these were the five minute drawings, the ones previous were 1 and 2 minutes.

It’s funny, when you do the one minute drawings, by the time you get to five minutes you start to think about how much TIME you have!! It feels like you have all the time in the world comparably. I’m sure that’s the point.

ten minutes

This was the 40-minute. And there you go!! I’ll aim to update the Patreon weekly with these posts, so I hope this is fun to see! And hopefully over time I can look back at these and see how much progress I’ve made ;_;
