Behind the scenes from Xmas Marble Race - News on Marble Survival 100

Hello everyone!

As you already know, the Xmas Marble Race is followed by a new tournament! It is called Marble Survival 100, an endurance championship where all 32 Marble League teams will compete, but more on that later!

The Xmas race was on turmoil until the last minute because we were on something new totally different compared to that, and after managing our time available, we spent 4 full days to build the whole thing, setup the cameras and lights. The new addition were the obstacles which were made either by hand or are 3D printed on our studio! The pins above are prefab though, not 3D printed.

Here are some of the many obstacles that will be used on MS100 on some of the races.

Dion here does some urban planning on the Christmas village.

At the end of the track the Xmas race featured the Choir who sang while Minos played the piano. The piano was 3D printed by the way and was super cool to nail it on the first try!

In the image above we used a random marble to "play the piano", but Minos said "I think I could be there", so we changed the marble like, 10 minutes before recording.

Dion is on it! Also it was quite cold inside the studio.

After Xmas Marble Race, it was destined to use the track again. So we made a new championship the Marble Survival 100! This will be a set of 100 races. Every week we will upload 7 of those. Each race awards points from P1 to P32. 

After 7 races the bottom 2 teams get eliminated. Next week another 7 races will award points from P1 to P30 this time and after 7 races another two teams will get eliminated. This goes on for 14 videos.

Here Jelle adds led strips to improve the lighting we missed in the Xmas race. All handcrafted by him, cut and screwed in the perfect way he does, with the help of the team. The LED strips illuminate the track in a unique way!

Party time! Oh by the way, every 7 races the layout changes slightly, changing the obstacles and their arrangement. Bringing new items in swapping others and so on.
