How do we build our M1 tracks?

At first, Jelle lays out the course on ground level. He gets his inspiration from all kind of places: Real race tracks, from his countless marble run projects, aqua parks or simply his imagination!
Once we are happy with the basic layout, it is time to figure out the elevation, which can often be quite tricky! You really have to keep the marbles' potential energy in mind and manage the incline in a way they don't lose momentum before the end of the lap. This is why it's so convenient to have the track on pillars and not on ground level.
After that, we figure out the placement of our studio lights. We want to make sure everything is properly and evenly illuminated. We place the decorations, the pit lane, wire the elevator and all LED track posts.
And voilá, we have a finished track! Compared to season 1, we really wanted to improve the background and the decoration around the track to give it a more immersive feel. Hope you like it! 🥰
