Your story reminded me of something that happened a few days ago. I was on my lunch and getting food, and there is only one guy running the line from servicing the food, packing it, and ringing people out. It was Saturday and a lunch rush, and this guy in front of me, loudly talking on the phone the entire time, he eventually gets to the end to pay for his food, and waits for the employee, who is serving food at the end of the line. He keeps looking at the employee, waiting not even 2 minutes and then says under his breath “What the hell is this guy doing?” The employee goes to ring up his food and asks him “Did you want a bag for your food?” The customer ignored him, and again the employee asks, after he pays, if he wants a bag. The customer then replies “No, just better service.” And then leaves. The employee apologized, over and over. I was next after him, and he apologizes for the wait and I’m like “No, no you’re good! The service was great! Don’t pay attention to that guy.” The employee then gave me my drink free and an employee discount. That kind of attitude makes it SO clear that, that customer 1: never worked in customer service. And 2: had complete and utter disregard for other people and what was going on around them.
