The crazy thing is if Cora had her heart, she wouldn't have been as bad as she was. The real Cora had love for people and that's exactly why she took her heart out because she knew that would hold her back. Also I disagree with your thinking on Charming. It wasn't like that at all but more so he knew Cora wanted Snow's heart to grow black and her doing that would be exactly something that Cora wanted. Also Snow already convinced him that people are capable of change and that's another reason Charming didn't want her to kill Cora.

omg, i started watching the first ep of this reaction like, 3 days ago and I already caught up!!
i think what Charming was thinking is exactly what Cora wanted to happen. Snow is one of the purest souls in their world, she has no ounce of darkness in her and doing something so terrible as killing someone (by choice) would start rotting and breaking her soul/heart (cause everything in their world is about their hearts). i remember what happens next for her and is really sad and I believe that is what Charming was trying to avoid because he probably guessed what the consequences would be :(
i love Regina but in this first seasons, i always thought she was a bitch ahahahah!! but i think i get why she is doing this at this point. the only person who truly loved her, her entire life, was her dad (Daniel doesn't count in this scenario) and ALL she ever heard around her was that power was more important and that with power she could get everything. i think she truly loves Henry, but in her twisted mind, the only way she thinks she can get love is by being more powerful. we know she wants to change for Henry, i believe she wants to, but unfortunately, she doesn't know any better cause she never experienced any better, even when people try to show her. THAT'S WHY WE SUPPORT THERAPY!!!

Regina is messed up for sure, but I disagree that she seeks power and that her motivation of wanting her son back is bullshit. I think the whole point is that she has such inner turmoil BECAUSE her key motivation love but she goes about it in terrible ways. She would never have done the things she did in early S2 or put Cora’s heart back in if she didn’t actually want love. It’s never been about power, truly. Therein lies the biggest difference between Regina and Cora imo. I think you will definitely start to see this more in the next episode for sure, and even more so by the end of the season.
Hopefully you can remain open minded and recognize Regina’s evolution as it gradually develops. Even since the beginning of S1, Regina has changed. I think it’s important to recognize that in order to grasp that complexity and understand her character.
Also I don’t have a problem with Snow killing Cora. I think that was fully justified, and honestly heroic in some ways, but the way she did it was uncalled for. To manipulate Regina to believe that she could have her mother’s love only to have all of it ripped away? THAT is messed up. Although no more messed up than some of the things Regina has done I guess! But definitely not something that should be praised regardless.
