high school musical has 3 movies, anyway i love this season, its my fav after season 3. (season 3 is still my fav) i think the acting and the script was always great tbh. but i think the show got even better after season 2. thats why season 3-4 are my fav. i was actually not the biggest gina and ricky fan, and i liked ej and gina. and i wanted a pause from the love square, but i actually really like gina and ricky after watching season 4. and love season 3 more now, cause the first time i was annyoed about ricky and gina. but after i watched season 4 i shipped them, and had a new found love for season 3.

3 of the songs in season 4 are written by Cozi Zuehlsdorff (Hazel from the Dolphin Tale movies). She wrote Both "Puppy Love" songs, "Call It What You Want", and "Love You Forever". She also appears as a reporter in the last two episodes of the series, so when the cast is singing "Love You Forever", they're singing it in front of her. She also wrote "Rising" from season 3.

personally, I would be willing to forfeit you continuing this season right now for you to watch the movies first in place of the time you'd usually spend on the show

Just want to say thank you for always posting these BTS/trivia tidbits. Most of the time it’s new information for me so I enjoy reading these. Also I love hearing what some of the actors are up to or have been in before because the only name I really knew when I started watching this show was Olivia Rodrigo. Like it’s really cool to see that the duet with Ricky and Gina had missed opportunities play out or what if situations I guess. Never would’ve occurred to me that was what the scene was.

Re watching while slightly less tired and forgot a few things in my original comment. 1) the flashback scenes in Maybe This Time (car after homecoming, Ricky playing guitar in the practice room and I can't remember when the last one was) were all moments something could have happened between Ricky and Gina but didn't 2) for the writing seeming a little different and more mature I think they realized that their core audience were those who grew up with the movies, so late teens to mid-twenties, and adjusted. 3) one of the songwriters for the show actually sang the theme song for Mark and Spark. She's also one of the ones who wrote it
