I also see chemistry with Klaine! but Kurt became such a stoic character that it does seem one sided at times, but they still remain my fav couple on the show with Brittana close behind.

true, kurt was never the most touchy type. they look in love and good to me without beeing to touchy. i dont see what other people here see with the actors having a problem with eachother or klaine not beeing in love. thats so wrong lol

i dont think thats true. they always seemed like great friends to me. klaine didnt look akward at all to me after season 3. you dont need to be touchy all the time lol, that doesnt mean anything

i think kurt and blaine look in love tbh. i think why most people like klaine, is cause there such a big part of the show. after rachel, kurt and blaine are definilty the main characters, we see so much of them, and since finchel wasnt a thing anymore, they got to be the main ship of the show. i love them together. same like i love rachel , i image its hart not liking her watching the show, since we see her all the time. my least fav is actually santana, kitty i dont really like bitchy mean characters (like sue is also on my list, funny, iconic but liking not really) but she is really important and probabyl the most important after rachel

i imgage its hart watching glee and dont like kurt or klaine (the same like i image not liking rachel) there the main characters, main ship and litteraly in every ep. so i like them all (and klaine) with exception of santana, and kitty, sue not here biggest fan of bitchy characters, but their still iconic

Oh I really wish there were more Mercedes & Artie duets in Glee. Totally agree, Artie was my favorite male voice until Roderick came along in Season 6.
Hey Ya! has been on my playlist for years, it always helps get my energy back. The studio version has a nice part by Jane. It's really a shame we didn't get to hear her sing more, her voice is beautiful.
It is absolutely crazy that you guessed it, but I guess you truly understand this show now haha

It is mentioned in dialogue the Kurt has a problem with intimacy, which can mean just showing affection. But to their credit, they are more touchy freely after the Child Star episodes.

that was probably just a very popular wedding song that Amber could crush with her vocals. I don’t think there was any personal weight to that song. but I remember Ryan saying that he chose the He-ya song because of that reason and what the fans referred to Heather and Naya as Brittana or Heya.

never forget when Ryan Muphy said that there was more dramas between the boys.. yet the girls dirty laundry was always in the media... wow maybe he was right! also my fav thing is seeing people get all messy to defend Naya/Lea about their "beef" and Naya just saying they're kind of the same people and would have worked with her again. What if there was bigger feud in the glee cast? but it wasn't used as a storyline from s1 to 5.. but yeah you can clearly see that there is no real Santana/Rachel interaction in s6; honestly, i couldn't handle another santana rachel beef haha it got so old!!! but i think Lea and Naya were both amazing actresses, bc from the rumors online they were beefing since s3 but honestly, they seemed like great friends on the screen! and imo, the only person being able to challenge Lea/Rachel overall (vocals, acting, screen time lol) and yes, be okay was kinda awkward hahaha

2023-12-03 09:03:02 +0000 UTC
Whatever their issue was, they could've been professional enough to hide it. I think Naya and Rachel made a better work at that althoug there are some moments where you can tell they're avoiding each other, too, like when they're doing the seating arrangement, Rachel can't look at Santana or in episode 6x6 where they have a toast at Mr Schue's house and Rachel doesn't toast and looks away because Santana is exactly across her. That Be Ok song was so awkard, too.

There is also a rumor/blind gossip out there that one of them tried to get the other fired and keep Adam Lambert. Don't know if it is true, but that could also explain the awkwardness.

I love this episode. By this point in the series, I've kind of given up on anything making sense and am just enjoying the vibe. I really enjoy the vibe in this episode.
This episode had a lot of great super quick comedy bits that kill me every time, like Carol frantically trying to get someone to take her drink as the song was starting. Or that look on Artie's face when Tina comes out of the room with Mike and shakes her head. It's so quick, but he really manages to sell how hard Artie is working to not actually shake his head.

So remember back in season 2 Valentines Day during Silly Love Songs Blaine sang “Sometimes love doesn’t come in a minute” then to Santana “Sometimes it doesn’t come at all”. Well now they are walking each other down the aisle to their loves. So take that, sophomore Blaine.

Those are one of my least favorite types of fans. The ones who can't seem to separate the characters from the actors. I've heard stories of people being harassed in real life for things their characters did on a show. Or for "cheating on" their character's love interest with their real life one. I'll never understand

i just personally think the chemistry between klaine from s5/6 is painful to watch. they were so cute in s2 and 3, but those later seasons.. something changed. rumors say it's about the actors not being that close and some drama with fans. i'm just disappointed bc i really don't care about klaine since they broke up 2 seasons ago... i understand that the show wanted them to end up together, but doing it during brittana's wedding felt a bit disrespectful tbh...

2023-12-01 22:35:44 +0000 UTC
Audreyyyy your pattern recognition is too good 😂.
I love this episode because I love Brittana but i kind of hate the double wedding thing. I want more Brittana, less klaine. There’s just no chemistry between Kurt and anyone, or Blaine tbh, neither are very romantic. They could’ve just started dating again rather than having an impromptu wedding. I do love the burt and carol scenes though :)
I love they Hey Ya song only because Heya is heather and Nayas name among the fandom and it’s just adorable.
Slight spoiler I guess but you’re right again about Rachel having an unexpected storyline. I won’t go further though because that really will be a spoiler.
This episode honestly just makes me smile I love Brittana so much, still gutted that Quinn isn’t there though. I love that sue brings up faberry which is I think a nod to the fans as everyone is crazy about faberry (I kinda agree tbf, I wish they’d explored it a little).

The amount of times I’ve watched this episode and never realized that Blaine and Kurt hardly ever even hold hands blew my mind! I definitely think it helped that Naya and Heather are both naturally affectionate people that it just moves into the show so easily. Even if you watch the earlier seasons/episodes before they were a couple they were already holding hands or laying on one another in the background of scenes. I always thought the Blaine and Kurt relationship felt stiff!

Look at you, from being confused by the storylines the past 4 seasons to actually guessing what happens this episode... this is what i call character development🥹😄
I will NEVER forgive the glee writers for ruining the Brittana wedding - yea, ruining. I never liked Klaine (I don't see any chemistry between them and I also don't like Kurt) and then they decided to include them in the wedding when they still weren't dating at the beginning of this episode. And I don't buy the whole "its a short season" excuse. They could've done something like Tina and Mike, where Klaine would start date again and promise each other to marry in the future. But then again, Klaine shippers would've probably gone to war if this would've happened lol
but all in all it was a good episode, the wedding was still cute and I still shed a lot of tears, which I always do at weddings😅🙃

I guess one of the reasons Heather and Naya show more intimacy is because they were actually good friends and shipped Brittana almost as hard as the fans.
Darren and Chris however were probably only friendly in the end, due to rabid fans who wanted to see them together in real life as well and even harassed them and their partners, so their comfort level most likely wasn't really up there.
Also Brittana have always been very touchy feely and have been treated as an item from the get go while Blaine and Kurt were usually separated. Not only were they seldomly holding hands or touching in any other way, they were often not even sitting together in the choir room for example. It's always been weird and fans have often complained about the lack of Klaine's couple-like behavior..

One of the best episodes of the 6th season! I thought it was the funniest episode. Ken and Jennifer as Brittany’s parents were the greatest thing I ever saw on television 😂
I too felt like the double wedding was predictable, just seemed like such a Glee thing to do.
Brittany freaking out about bad luck, her telling the chicken “this is your lucky day, sir.” And asking Rachel to find a lizard to cross her path 😂 love it. And the scene where Santana calms her down is so sweet.
I have a feeling Rachel’s conflicting feelings about being seen with Sam in front of Carol reflected her own reality with Cory’s mom. I remember an interview a year after his death his mom said she still texted and emailed with Lea. I wonder if it was awkward for her to be seen dating again.
Only 5 episodes left 😭
Can’t believe it! I’m excited because my FAVORITE duet is coming up, but at the same time it’s almost over 😞 I’ve enjoyed watching with y’all!

Fun fact: This episode aired 4 months before the U.S. Supreme Court legalised same-sex marriage.
A lot of things didn't make sense about this episode. Like Quinn not being there at her supposed best friends' wedding (especially because Puck is there). Sue is weird and unpredictable but I still like her a lot better than in S5. I did like how Abuela didn't do a complete 180 regarding her beliefs because it felt more realistic. I didn't really get Tina's whole proposal thing with Mike but I guess the Glee kids just love proposing! Obviously the main thing was Kurt and Blaine. I'm not at all surprised you guessed it. Things happen fast in Glee. Kurt breaks up with Walter, gets back together with Blaine and marries him all in one episode! Due to the last season being shorter it is very rushed. Also some characters that were there that shouldn't have been, like why is Blaine's mom at Brittany and Santana's wedding? Why didn't we get a single scene between her and Blaine? Why hadn't she and Burt & Carole met? Their sons were engaged for over a year! And where was Santana's dad? So many questions.
I remember when it first aired, Brittana shippers were SO mad that they made it a double wedding with Klaine. Even some Klaine shippers. I love both couples and unpopular opinion but I liked it. I felt it was very fitting. But if we had had more time then sure, I would have liked to see them have their own separate weddings.
I loved the music even though there wasn't as much of it. I would have liked to see a Brittana duet AND a Klaine duet. I wonder if they chose Hey Ya! because Heather and Naya were called "Heya"? But seeing everyone, especially the moms on the dance floor was fantastic. Carole's got some moves! Btw, Carole and Burt also got married in episode 8 (of season 2).

As a few people have mentioned; the “Sue Shipping Lesbians” trope is probably just subtle (well, not so subtle) nods that Jane Lynch herself is lesbian. So is Dot Marie Jones(Beiste), and I think the pair dated briefly, around this time period. I could be mistaken.
My hot takes!
1): I was thoroughly impressed with how the “Mothers of McKinley” did with their performance of “I’m so Excited”. I mean, those ladies actually sounded and danced great! Breakout performance of that goes to both Romy Rosemont and Jennifer Coolidge, as I had NO CLUE those 2 could sing and dance like that.
2): It’s also worth mentioning that Gloria Estefan actually performing; not as Gloria, but as “Santana’s mother” really showed her acting skills, and her ability to share a spotlight.
3): Abuela finally showing up actually made me think about my own grandmother, whom I had recently lost. I only wish mine would’ve been so accepting of who I am before she was gone.
4): Doctor Ken Jeong…. Man, he is funny anyway, but to pair him with Jennifer for twice the comedic effect? *chef’s kiss*
5): I agree with you, Audrey. Santana TOTALLY would’ve had a more elaborate wedding ring! I think the props department accidentally mixed hers and Brittany’s rings up, as Brittany’s is super stylish, and Santana’s is simpler.
These next couple of episodes are gonna be a little bit intense. We do get 1 of 2 AMAZING songs written by one of the Cast members coming up, though, so that’s worth it.

This episode is not as popular with fans as one might think. Many don’t like the double wedding. I enjoy it but I understand how Brittana stans feel like their moment was divided. I wish that it was an hour long as some parts felt a little rushed, and I think that Klaine should have secretly got married in a wedding chapel on the way to this wedding instead, and this episode ends with them slow dancing to Come What May in a hotel room. That way each couple gets their moment. Also where Kurt and Blaine are right now, it seems more fitting.
I imagine that how much the couples touch is based on the actors comfort level. They have never been as touchy-feely as Brittana.
I totally agree that Artie has a great voice! The most underrated one on the show! In my top 5 best glee singers, he’s at #4 but very close to #3.
Also Quinn is not here because Dianna was filming a movie. Not because she wasn’t invited like many fans thought. And don’t worry, Sues downfall is coming. 😉

Don't even remind me of that. Nothing made any sense for Brittana except that they wanted to get married. All those points you metioned plus those absurd vows that had nothing to do with them. Plus, abuela not only tolerating one gay wedding but two. Plus I needed more songs.

I would've preferred Mike and Tina joining the wedding than Kurt and Blaine >( They don't even look in love and as Becky said in one episode they don't even look at each other's eyes but the fandom refuses to acknowledge that. TiKe's scene was very cute but I wish it they hadn't set up Tina for a rejection, if they can come up with an absurd double wedding why not have a triple wedding? I mean, at least don't rob me from more Brittana scenes, like a performance or something.
I also think that At Last is not a song Brittana would've requested- it's not their type of music. Even the HeYA song makes more sense for them, eventoug we know it's an easter egg because of HEather and NaYA. They should've sung a duet, I mean, They hadn't sung together since I wanna dance with somebody :( . And BTW, Audrey, this was Brittana last episode and was their send off. Quinn last espisode was on 6x02 and I don't think Dianna has ever said why she wasn't on their wedding. I don't think she's even been asked.
The Sue thing is that Jane Lynch was like the face of Glee, The most important cast member, but without Mr Schue it doesn't make any sense. I don't think Sue ever cared about anyone but Becky, (who I also missed in this wedding), but the show kind of forced her to have interactions with some Glee kids to justify her presence.
Oh well, it wasn't perfect but as usual Brittana makes a meal out of the crumbs they are given. This is my Glee Finale by choice.

I agree! Brittany never knew a closet and definitely didn’t look up to Kurt and Blaine. She was also just encouraging Kurt to move on because Blaine had seemingly moved on with Dave so why would she be wanting them to get married and join her meticulously planned wedding? And Santana being totally cool with sharing their special day with Kurt and Blaine just seems ridiculous even for Glee. I think the only was she would have agreed to it is if Brittany really did want it because she’s just putty in Britt’s hands. Brittany can get her to do just about anything, anyway.

So 3 things I can think of off the top of my head right now.
1) for the PDA difference between the couples Brittana has always shown more PDA than Klaine so it kinda makes sense that it would be the case here too.
2) it's kinda been explained throughout the series that Sue usually shows more support for minorities because of her sister who passed away in S2.
3) Dianna Agron (Quinn) was filming something else and couldn't make it
Jay Johnston

I loved the double wedding! Even though Klaine and Brittana both deserved their own, it would be too similar to have two wedding episodes. The Hey ya song is a weird choice but it was requested by Naya and Heather because it's their ship name! Also with Brittana showing more PDA, Kurt literally had a conversation in 6x01 with Rachel saying that he struggles with intimacy and Brittana are always more "touchy" anyway.
We could have done without the Tina side plot tho lmao
Gigi

But I will say, Rachel does get married, though we don’t see the wedding…but it atleast makes sense and it’s not Sam.

Tina and Artie have always been good together and I think the actor's close relationship plays into that some. They shared a house together for most of the time the show was shooting and they still podcast with each other twice a week.

I absolutely loved the cover of At Last. Also on the show Bones during Booth and Brennan's wedding Cyndi Lauper sings At Last as well and she of course does an amazing job with the song!!!! I definitely reccomend that you listen to it. Here is the link if you want to see the clip. The singing starts about a minute into the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47jdi-gQKLc

My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. I just love all the fluffliness. I do think though that it definitely should have just been a Brittana wedding with maybe Klaine just getting back together. Brittany freaking out about all the wedding prep and superstitions was so cute, she just wanted everything to be perfect for Santana. The whole chicken scene had me cackling! She just plops the chicken down in the school hallway and closes the door! Santana telling Sue she wants to be surrounded by the people she loves, god if 16 year old Santana could see her now!
The honeymoons, Brittana clearly got the better honeymoon and now we know that Santana and Brittany are huge Wonder Woman fans and now are not ashamed to admit it. Just adorable.

From a “we only have so many episodes per season” perspective… it totally makes sense to double-up the gay couples to get married together—kill two birds with one stone.
From a logical perspective… (which Glee doesn’t really abide by)
1. Brittany never “looked up to” Kurt & Blaine’s relationship. The girl never knew a closet.
2. Would Santana really be okay suddenly sharing the spotlight, especially with the guy who interrupted her proposal? Then again, she seemed to be laid back about all the logistics, she just wanted to be married, while Brittany took over all the wedding planning.
3. Klaine was still resolving their issues and it was too soon. But… following Burt’s speech and keeping Finn in mind, it could make sense for them to act impulsively and irrationally.
This was totally a fan episode. Tying up all the couples. Playing “Hey ya!” for Heather & Naya (Heya). Getting “OTP” hats for Klaine & Brittana. Sue hinting at Faberry (Quinn Fabray + Rachel Berry). Dianna was filming a movie in Europe but yeah, Quinn should have been there.
Speaking of killing two birds… the writers had to yet again include an unnecessary (and ridiculous) side story while doing Tina’s character dirty one more time. 🙄

I love this episode!! Mercedes and Artie singing at last and the whole isle scene has a chockhold on me lol. I just love all of the britanna and klaine this episode gives, also Burt and Carol being the mvps as usual. if they had more time britanna and klaine definitely deserved there own weddings but im not unhappy with how they did it at all. I can't believe you called out that they were both going to get married in the first minute of this episode! I love all the songs from this episode as well. Also, to those who may not have caught it sue being insane with getting Blaine and Kurt back together was to have them be together by the britanna wedding and the calendar where she mentioned them being friends again and that they were right on track refers to the timeline of getting them together by the wedding which is so ridiculously glee but I find funny. also the fact that they make it seem like Blaines mom and carol are meeting for the first time like be so for real XD there is no way they haven't met in the last however many years Kurt and Blaine were a thing.
I understand your confusion with sue and trust me it is confusing and it is just something you have to roll with. the whole her shipping queer couples from the show and calling out ship is solely a direct callout to the gleeks it has nothing to do with sues character at all. I do find her just mean and unfunny these past few seasons.

If you are ever looking for a new Heya/Brittana story id love to share mine! ❤️❤️ I can't wait to rewrite the wedding! Keep all the fun stuff but let our girls have their own moment. It's what we all needed I think. 🥰

It should have been all about Heather/Naya & Brittana! Completely agree!

32:00 they Sang He-ya because it's Heather and Naya’s couple name in real life. It was a huge thing because they were always the bestest friends.

It is such a random occurrence that Blaine's mom just happened to be at the ceremony when she had no reason to be there. That should be a big clue that Blaine and Kurt would end up getting married this episode.

Wish this would've been a solo wedding for Brittany and Santana but overall I love this episode. The Brittany and Santana focused episodes are my favorite episodes this season.
