2023-07-04 10:28:52 +0000 UTCThank you for requesting this episode.👌🏼Legacies is a great show,🎬as well as the the entire, The Vampire Diaries Universe.🌍I like that they did a musical🎶episode.🎬I enjoy🤩that it’s so chaotic🫨because that is how high school🏫 is a lot of the time⌚️and to top it off, they all have different types of supernatural backgrounds. Would have been amazing🤩if they kept this show going. After the blueprint,📑this was a fun,😁adventurous continuation🪢of the story the OG fans adored.😍The monster aka the sprite is not her father, but no👎🏼spoilers🫢in case you do the series.🤩They all have beautiful voices.🎧It would be cool to do the entire series🎬of The Vampire Diaries Universe.🫠👀🎉However,🤔I think you might enjoy😁Legacies the most. And the musical is pertaining to the very beginning of the TVD Universe.🌍There is a lot of missing context, if you were to just watch 👀 Legacies.☝🏼This was another fabulous watch party.👀🎉❤️

2023-06-23 09:19:22 +0000 UTCPodcasts are fantastic! I was listening to all the fun audiodramas for a long time, but then got sucked into audiobooks and it's kind of back and forth now. Which ones have you been listening to?

2023-06-23 09:13:15 +0000 UTCI had all sorts of thoughts/comments, and then the blonde read the letter and "...there is nothing wrong with you. Your brain chemistry creates unique challenges for you, but you are not broken." happened and damn that hit hard. Idk what her situation is but that is... really good. I was impressed with all the singing, especially from so many cast members. I've seen other shows where the musical episode highlights the best singers out of the bunch, but I don't think I've seen one where it's this many at this level? Little bit of googling and it looks like Jenny Boyd (blonde) did do her own singing. Idk what it was but her voice just reminded me vocally of Mary Chapin Carpenter and visually whoever it was that played the young version of Bonnie Hunt's character in Jumanji. I was a little distracted by that. I haven't heard anything by her in years so could just be my shit memory. I thought Hope was a redhead too. She does very much have vintage redhead vibes <3 If you liked this vibe but couldn't get into the Harry Potter books. I just finished a series that might be more up your alley. The Scholomance Series by Naomi Novik. It was a lot of fun, but nothing like Harry Potter aside from magic things + school. Another is the show A Discovery of Witches (I haven't watched more than the first few episodes, so idk). There was a really badass show way back called Hex, but if I'm not mistaken it got cancelled and didn't wrap up? I could go on, but yeah.... so many shows and movies with this vibe get going and then just get cancelled and ugh it's not fair. I definitely might have to watch this show now.

2023-06-15 15:40:29 +0000 UTCAbsolutely loved this!! Thanks for requesting it, Brianna! For the main question, yes that is Jenny Boyd (Lizzie) singing – in an interview she talked about being out of her comfort zone as the only cast member without musical training or experience. For some other show-context, the musical that they're doing is essentially a summary of the Vampire Diaries! In this universe, the vampire diaries was the first show (which followed elena, damon, stefan, and caroline), followed by the originals (following Hope's family, whose mother became pregnant during vampire diaries but then moves to new orleans where Hope's family lives), and now legacies! In the vampire diaries, Klaus Mikaelson (Hope's dad) was the big bad for several seasons, eventually killing Elena Gilbert (who came back to life through magic), and at one point also had a relationship with Caroline Forbes (Lizzie and Josie's mom) After Hope was born, Klaus became a somewhat better person (still murderous but his daughter became the most important thing in his life). Caroline Forbes, at the same time, had become pregnant with Lizzie and Josie — their biological mother was a witch who was murdered by her brother at her own wedding, and her coven implanted the fetuses into Caroline without her knowing (which is even creepier considering that their father, Alaric, had been Caroline's high school history teacher). Caroline was married to Stefan, who was also killed at his wedding I think, and she wanted to found a school for supernatural kids in his honour, and Klaus gave her the money because he wanted his daughter to have a safe place to belong. Hope's mom, dad, and uncle all sacrificed their lives for her, leaving Hope with a lot of trauma and a huge guilt complex, but the Mikaelson words are "always and forever" (meaning specifically that family is always and forever), which is where her song comes from! Elena and Hope both lost everyone they love, so even though it's weird within the musical for Elena to be singing the words of a family that murdered most of her loved ones (and that murdered her), the message of the song definitely fits both of them! And yes, the little girl onstage was meant to be a younger Hope, specifically Hope from season 4 of the originals where she was I think she was around 7 years old The look of Legacies is stunning, the sets and costume design are both gorgeous and the cast is all beautiful! If you've liked Buffy so far, and since you enjoyed Supernatural, I really think that you would love legacies (I want to say as a watch party because I love it so much, but even just checking out the first episode for your own entertainment)! It hits on all of the classics, witches and werewolves and vampires, but it delves into a lot of less-common mythology too, and while it is a monster-of-the-week format, it's a lot more character driven than a lot of shows that follow that style! This became more of an essay than I meant for it to be but I really do love Legacies and this episode, so if there were any other questions that you had about it (even ones that you brushed off since this is in season 3), I would be happy to answer anything and gush about this show and universe even more!
