When I seen it in the cinema I got goosebumps from the first few notes of music, total flashback to my childhood! I would definitely say it's one of the best live action remakes from Disney

I have not seen this movie in a while. ๐ This was definitely one of the top Disney movies ๐ฅ on my favorites list. Excited to see this again. ๐๐ Photos of Alyssa Milano (as a young girl from, Whoโs the Boss?) were used to inspire Arielโs face. Another actress was used as references for Arielโs body. They hand painted each of the bubbles (millions).๐ซง The little seahorse reminds me of the munchkins from, The Wizard of Oz. When King ๐ Triton ๐ฑ first enters the castle ๐ฐ you can spot Kermit the Frog, ๐ธ then Goofy, Donald Duck ๐ฆ and Mickey Mouse all sitting in the audience beneath him, on the left. You have to look ๐ very closely. ๐ I so did the flower๐ธ picking thing.๐ณ Under the Sea, ๐ is one of the best๐๐ผ and most memorable songs ๐ถ from the original. ๐ Ursula is not technically an octopus ๐ because she only has six legs๐ฆต๐ผ instead of eight. ๐ It was less costly that way. As Ariel ๐งโโ๏ธ gives her voice ๐ฃ๏ธ away, the contract ๐ has a Mickey (somewhere in the middle, from the original) on it, they removed it and the words are ๐ gibberish. After Sebastian ๐ฆ passes out in the kitchen,๐ช๐๐ฅ๐ฆ in the dining hall, is a portrait (the 2nd painting) ๐ผ๏ธ of Prince Phillip๐คด๐ปand Aurora๐ธ๐ผ (from Sleeping Beauty, the original). Prince Ericโs maid, Carlotta, has the exact outfit Cinderella (the original) is wearing when she cleans, ๐งน๐งฝ๐งบ except her headscarf. After Chef Louis tore up the kitchen, there is a Mickey head. You will see it on the windowsill (unbroken) ๐ช๐ to the right. The King and Duke (from Cinderella, the original) were in the movie but they changed the Kingโs appearance and completely removed the Duke. They were in the first wedding ceremony between Prince Eric๐คด๐ป and Vanessa aka Ursula.๐ She will always be creepy. ๐ซฃ It does feel like the Disney Live Action movies ๐ฅ are much darker ๐ซ๏ธ and more adult than the originals. Itโs intriguing to know as children, we once loved ๐ these movies. ๐ฅ As weโve grown, we see ๐ the messages are terrible and toxic.๐งช๐ฅด The takeaway is that some of the characters are awesome ๐คฉ๐๐ผ and the music ๐ถ definitely brings you back. ๐

I was more of a tomboy and a movie about a girl longing to be with a prince didn't appeal to me as much. Same with some of the older ones like Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. My favorites were probably Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, 101 Dalmatians, Robin Hood, Pocahontas and The Lion King. But, I developed an appreciation for it when I got older. As well as a lot of the others that I didn't previously care for. Now I love singing along to all the songs, lol.

2023-05-27 17:51:46 +0000 UTCI was lucky enough to see an advanced screening of the new little mermaid and all I can say is don't compare the 2 when you watch it because stuff is different. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the new one so much more then the cartoon.
