Yay. πŸ‘€πŸŽ‰

Looks like you'll be watching season 2 soon ;)

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

oh good! I really liked Gina

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

The love square is messy but things get so much better in season 2 and 3! Gina has a much bigger role and overall I did like Nini's arc of finding herself as her own person. Side characters get more screentime and great songs too! And if you don't want to continue watching the series, it would be really nice if you reacted to some songs from the next seasons :)

They have just been renewed for a season four. 4️⃣ However, I do agree that the first season 1️⃣ was and is a lot.🀯 I have not gone out of my way to watch season two 2️⃣ yet.🫣 If there is a watch party, I will be here. So many situations, so little time.⌚️Season one 1️⃣ seems chaotic at best.πŸ€ͺ The idea of Gina and Ricky seems sweet, if they had more time to mature. Ricky is all over the place and Gina (like any person) deserves to be fully loved πŸ₯°, hopefully not made to feel like a second option.πŸ€” Ricky and Nini both seem so confused 🫀 and unsure of everything.🌎 They are all high schoolers so there is still hope.

Yeah season 3 is definitely the best one overall, but season 1 does what it needs to do, set up the characters and their relations at the point in time we meet them.. season 2 it helps develop the characters and the relationships AND future relationships as well, and season 3 is just πŸ˜šπŸ‘ŒπŸΎ

Also, Ricky and Nini as the leads is so Gabriella and Troy-coded, so it was frustrating, but also felt true to the sort of dynamics created in that relationship, so it felt intentional at the very least. Nini/Ricky being the main focus of the first season also feels very Rachel and Finn-coded, honestly, so they’re being guided by all of the stuff that came before them!

I Am Not Chamari

Lol I’m shocked at everyone saying it gets better. Season 1 is miles above Season 2 and Season 3 in my opinion, when it comes to story and comedy. But to each their own!

I Am Not Chamari

I totally get your frustration with Nini and Ricky as the leads. They definitely wise up and give others a chance to shine in future seasons, so I would recommend sticking with it. I also love Gina and Kourtney so much and I really didn't expect to, but I love Ashlyn and EJ so much too. I loved that Ashlyn assumed that EJ had sent her the flowers, which shows that his character is a sweetheart at his core. His generosity and kindness also shows in his willingness to fly Gina back for the show. When the show introduced the Caswell (Ashlyn and EJ) as the rich kids, I expected them to go with the obvious trope of them being spoiled and entitled, but the show went the opposite direction and I was delighted with that. In a way, it had to be that Ricky and Nini got back together so that they could get closure one way or another because if kept apart, they would always wonder and circle back to each other.

I’m biased because I really like this show and see the growth in the next 2 seasons. There are certain parts that make me upset but I separate it because it’s just the writing of the show to have the drama. I agree about the professionalism if this was a real stand point. But it’s just for fun

Olivia actually has a much more reduced role in s2, and only appears in 3 episodes of season 3. She left the show to focus on her music. I think with Ricky and Nina (Nini) it's about getting that closure. It has to be tough to fall in love with someone who's your other best friend and then to lose them for reasons you don't understand. As for Nina, she never actually had any kind of featured role until she went to camp, and that's only because EJ interfered. And she just had a lot of doubts about her own talent and Ricky dropping out threw her off, not to say it's an excuse because professionalism. Then again I knew a lot of theater kids and there was always some kind of drama behind the scenes.

Season 1 of this show is alright, but I absolutely enjoyed seasons 2 and 3 more. And honestly, if you're a fan of Kourtney, Ashlyn, and Gina, you'll love the next two seasons because they're all pretty great it in it. Ricky gets better too, even though it might take a bit and he's actually one of my favorites now even though I also am not the biggest fan of him in season 1. I think it's about halfway through season 2 where he just gets...good.

Sebastian Sawyer

I actually really like season 1, season 2 is much better thought

lila22

Continue it gets better.

Ashleigh Sotomayor

I agree with you that Ricky and Nini were so frustrating as leads for the musical. Ricky I'd understand he's never done a show before, but Nini had done a show basically every single time, so she knows about professionalism and shouldn't have made it based around personal drama. Now do continue though because I adore season 2 and 3, and trust me Ricky matures over the next two seasons and becomes less annoying. Give him time he's a dumb teenage boy

Turnip Crazy

No way she got nominated! YAY I ordered the cast CD a couple days ago and I can't wait to hear her as Red Riding Hood

Turnip Crazy

Season 3 is the best one so i would definitely keep pushing on. The story lines in 2 and 3 are so much better

I honestly think the show gets so much better after this. I found it very hard to get through season one but I’m so glad I kelt watching because I loved season 2 and 3. It all felt a bit more mature I guess.

blamphan

julia lester (Ashlyn) just got nominated for a tony this morning for into the woods! she was really great in it. also, future seasons focus a lot less on nini/ricky stuff
