So I'm jumping into the comments for this episode to share something I just learned about Truth, Justice and Songs in Our Key. When I originally watched this episode I found it kind of strange that Kourtney (played by Dara Renee) was just standing on the upper level with the boom box but Big Red (Larry Saperstein) was down dancing and singing with the others however I found out recently that there was a very important reason behind that. During an early take of it Larry and Dara's positions were actually switched but Dara ended up injuring her ankle pretty badly. Larry jumped in and learned the dance, switching places with Dara so she didn't have to dance on it. Larry was able to learn it fairly quickly since he is actually a dancer. Also yes the woman who asked how she could get tickets was from the original movies and was the nerd girl who liked to dance, her character name was Martha and she's played by Kaycee Stroh. When the creator asked the younger cast who they'd like to see him try to get for cameos from the original the number one answer was actually "pop and lock it girl" Kaycee was one of the easiest for them to get cause she actually lives in Salt Lake

2023-03-30 15:02:54 +0000 UTCI love that this episode continues to show them growing as friends and the drama that is sure to come from playing relationship musical chairs with EJ, Nini, Ricky, and Gina. Between last episode and this one, the characters are really starting to gel and develop. I am loving that they're bringing more characters out of the shadows and shining more of a spotlight on them like Kourtney, Ashlyn, Big Red, Carlos, and now even the stage manager, Natalie gets to sing a line during the school board meeting. I'm still team EJ, but I don't necessarily ship him with Nini although I think they're cute and like them more than Ricky and Nini. I'm really glad that they are showing more of a balance to both EJ and Gina, it's a lot more interesting when the characters have more depth. So glad you're watching this series and I continue to look forward to more watch parties. And I tried searching for Gina's bag, but I haven't had any luck so far but I'll keep you posted.

2023-03-29 01:40:14 +0000 UTCNini’s best friend is Kourtney! I think they do a better job at showcasing her talent in Season 2! Also, I completely agree with you about EJ/Nini and Ricky/Gina. They’re my favorite pairings at the moment, Ricky/Gina especially. Like as soon as that spark ignited, it’s like they can’t get enough of each other. And yes, that was Martha from the original film. She likes to pop, lock, jam and break 😂
