One of my favorite episodes in this series. Born to be Brave is so uplifting. Mr. Mesara finally giving some good advice. Kind of feel bad for EJ when the punch was poured on his head. Don't think he deserved that. And yes, Big Red is hilarious. We love Big Red. Also, agree with the grossness of eating your dog's kibble. So disgusting.

He is clearly very popular and doesn't forget or deny his roots, which is quality I admire and as the seasons go on it gets better...that's all I'll say about that. 2023-03-24 00:43:24 +0000 UTCExactly!! I think that Ashlyn was completely right in the last episode, he's someone who makes the wrong choices for the right reasons! From the very beginning, he had a fair reason not to like Ricky — he was a senior who'd put his heart and soul into the drama department for four years, went to theatre camp, did everything right, and he lost the lead to someone who's never done theatre, historically makes fun of musicals (according to Nini), and is only auditioning to try to get back with his ex, who's now EJ's girlfriend! He shouldn't have gone along with Gina's plan but he was desperate and scared and made a bad choice, and ended up having the worst night of the entire group because of it! (honestly I was team EJ from very early on, I was totally sold in the scene where he's doing a livestream and as soon as Ashlyn showed up he was hyping her up! That's a good cousin and a good guy, I can't hate him for being a dumb teenager when the main plot of this show is teenagers being emotional idiots lol)

He could have been scheming with Gina too, but poor guy just went along for the ride and ended up with the drink all over his head, lol

It's a lot of fun because we're all absolutely terrible at it but we have fun hanging out and heckling each other a bit, we keep threatening to go to karaoke but never actually do, so maybe sometime soon! I do love this episode and the point that it marks in terms of a lot of characters finally getting to grow and be more developed! The next two episodes are my favourites of the season so I'm very excited to see your thoughts! I don't think that Ricky's comments to Gina were too harsh, but I think that Big Red had a point that this specifically wasn't about him – Gina has been stirring up a lot of drama and being a problem in the cast, he's right and it needed to be addressed eventually, but the fact that she went to homecoming with EJ had nothing to do with him so Big Red was also right about that! I know that EJ's "I actually feel sorry for the guy" line rubs a lot of people the wrong way or just feels off, but I always took it as a geniune moment of EJ actually feeling bad that Carlos got stood up (or thought he got stood up) at his first homecoming, but I feel like it shows a lot that instead of joining in on the fun, he continued to mope, while Ashlyn was getting up to join Carlos and actively support him! EJ still needs to grow to become that kind of a guy, but he's starting to get some more dimension too (I'm also biased because EJ is my boy all the way)

I love Kourtney's friendship with Nini and we get to see more and more of her personality, I would love to have a friend like her. Ashlyn is definitely still a favorite and I love how she got up and danced with Carlos for the big number. Gina is definitely growing on me even more as I like that she is no longer just a two dimensional character and we get to see more of her vulnerability. Big Red is another one who is definitely starting to come into his own instead of just being Ricky's best friend. Born to Be Brave is such a bop and is one of my favorite go-to songs in the shower every morning. I'm so glad we got to really hear Kourtney's voice and I really love hearing her sing with Nini (my love for Olivia Rodrigo runs deep since us Filipnos are always so proud to see one of our own get the recognition on screen). I'm glad we got that scene at the end with Ricky and Gina. I've always thought that they had good chemistry ever since she went to the skate park to encourage him. That little bit was meant to be shown as manipulative on her part, but I think that she was really showing her inner self by doing that. I think that as friends, they could really be a force at school, but we all know that drama always makes for more entertaining storylines, so buckle up Wildcats!

Her plan was not great to begin with, but she didn’t even try to make sure Nini was going to be at Homecoming which you would think would be step one of the plan lol I also didn’t think what Ricky said about Gina was that harsh, but he also has had like zero one-on-one conversations with her, so I get like why that could have felt like an attack to her and everyone else at the table. But I like that they actually had a moment this episode. They are kind of very much alike.
