yes glitter roll on!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I grew up on buffy. Had the hair cut even got extra ear piercings so I could look like her. And I did have the glitter roll on

Liz Lilliman

Wow really? I haven't watched any if these shows in years, so I probably got all my info mixed up especially since charmed and Buffy were running on the same network at the same time for a while lol.

Royal Yaya

He was actually not on Charmed though his costar from Bones TJ Thyne was in an episode and the actress who plays Cordelia was also in a couple episodes of Charmed as well. I love him on Bones and definitely recommend that show to watch as it's a great show and one of my absolute favorite tv shows of all time!!!!!

Lydia Shepard

hahaha! ANGEL!!!!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Not me screaming Angellllllll when I see him lol. Yes it's the guy from Charmed. He also had his own series as Angel.

Royal Yaya

That might actually be because of the negative thumbnail.. I saw some comments on it on another reactor's discord.. Some realized straight away that it was a clickbait, while others were offended by the "people actually watch this?!" line and overall it turned them off from it.

Ashtara Levin

I'm got up on glee now to Buffy. Love this series. David Boreanz was in Bones and I think guest starred in charmed.

Sue Walters

I just hope it does well on YT. So far its failing badly :(

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I've been loving your Glee watches since the beginning, but this is my first time commenting to say PLEASE keep watching Buffy!! My all time favorite show for over 20 years and I was so excited to see you would be doing this. Hang in there... Season 1 can be a bit rough to get through, but it really gets so amazing in season 2 and beyond, and I think you'll love it. Can't wait to watch with you every week!!

Morgan Huling

Yea I'm enjoying it too. Sadly the video isnt doing well on my YT channel but I'm gonna try to stick with it for the first seasona dn see if it grows

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yea I agree that the closeness of a teacher leaning into buffy did see off if you couldnt hear what they were saying.

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

This show is solely responsible for the way that I speak. "Don't you have an elsewhere to be?" Has been firmly in my vocabulary since I was a teenager 🤣 The Giles/Buffy interactions in this episode always creep me out lol why are you so close to her? People can SEE you. 👀 they don't know you're talking about vampires. I love that you love Jesse. He doesn't get enough love 💜 I honestly love how cheesy this season started because of how low budget it was and they hadn't found their writing groove yet. The end of the season is amazing and season 2 will always be one of the best seasons.

Cory James

I've watched this series so many times that I have this entire episode memorized cause I've seen it so many times. I remember being bored in high school and instead of doodling, I'd write out my memory of the script line by line. No one will watch this series with me anymore cause I will literally just talk along with it. I'm so glad I get to see you react to it! I can't wait to actually sit down and watch this cause I haven't had much time recently, but I will definitely be leaving another comment when I've actually watched your reaction lol

Cory James

this is another level of good writing, AMAZING!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I love the vibe!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yeah Cordi was in her mid 20s shes the same age as my mom so she had to be at least 25 when she filmed this correct me if I'm wrong please LOL I never seen the first episode before wow it has such a different feel to it

You seem to have noticed that the teenagers on this show use a lot of weird slang you don't remember ever hearing in the 90s... because the writers predicted that if they used cutting-edge youth slang, it would all be dated already by the time the episodes aired. So they just made up their own teen slang.

Cory Stanish

Oh man watching this is reminding how many ups and downs this show has. But I’m willing to stick with it if I can rewatch it here. I also didn’t watch this on tv (mostly because I was born 1997 when this started)! But I love all the crazy 90s fashion and the things you could get away with doing on tv back then are insane!!!! Hopefully if you get enough of an audience for this show you can then start Angel too cuz that was a good show!!

Jordan Bester

No problem - now I have to rewatch the entire series.. oh nooo how horrible a fate (sarcasm)

Cody M

Thank you Cody!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Oh man! I forgot how much I loved this show! I'm so excited to watch these with you. We are about the same age so I am feeling it about the styles and the makeup from the late 90's - brings back a looooot of memories. Lip Smackers were definitely the thing! Also that guy is not from Charmed, but he does get his own show later that is a spinoff of Buffy. It's David Boreanaz. I'm not sure if you ever saw Angel or Bones, but I think he's in a show currently called SEAL team or SEALS or something. Seeing him in that satin jacket cracked me up!!!

Jennifer Adame

Bbbbbbbb Buffy u just like glued me here for an entire year or so XD

Karsten Hase

ME! TOO! 😂

Linda

Yes Buffy, Angel and Charmed were all on at the same time.

Jonathan

oh thats actually really cool to knwo that they did it on purpose for more of a women empowerment feel

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I wonder if charmed and angel were during the same era?

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Oh ANGEL!!! Ok I knew it was something like that! I actually rmemeber the movie and I liked it, but then again I was young

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Im excited for the style flashbacks from my high school years

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

hahaah!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

i can feel your excitment! haha!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

ok so far so good.

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I think thats amazing that she wanted to support a show with a leading lady !

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I helped David find the original episodes - it took us a bit :D

Cody M

From what I remember, it is never used as a weapon.

Cody M

omg thats so true!! I had a ton of clothing regulations at my school in JR high and even highschool

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

you ca thank David for doing a DEEP research to find the original episode versions

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

DO they do the whole garlic thing for vampires too?

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Buffy Yay!

Navell

That too!

Cody M

There is actually an unaired pilot that is fun to watch after you have watched the actual show. It is a condensed version of the first 2 episodes (run time about 25 min) and can be found on YouTube. Most of the actors are the same except for one of the main characters. Probably wouldn’t watch it until you finish the first season at least.

AmosRambles

I’m pretty sure they also had to change some of the music for streaming, because the original licences didn’t include digital streaming. If you remember the original soundtrack, the changes are obvious.

AmosRambles

No problem. 😊I'm a fan of Dolly Parton as well (I mean who isn't 😅😉) and when I first learned about this I was a bit surprised. But, then I told myself "it's Dolly Parton! Of course, she did something like this."😅

Madeline Jensen

I did not know this! My best friend is obsessed with Dolly, so this'll be fun to tell her when she's rolling her eyes that I'm making her watch this AGAIN. TY!!!

ashinscribbleland

Okay, just watched it and yeah that pilot is as fun as I remembered. So, silver = werewolves, not vampires. Vampires don't like holy things. Dolly Parton was a producer on the show - her production company produced it because it had a strong woman lead. Season 1 is probably one of the weaker seasons - it has amazingly cheesy SFX, though. Now everyone better watch this, I want to see the whole series (144 episodes) - also it is great that you are watching the DVDs, since the remasters suuuuck because for some, they ran it through a filter, totally destroying scenes and for others they just plopped in the widescreen footage, which led to crewmembers and the edges of sets being shown.

Cody M

I've watched half the episode (had to stop for masterclass), but omg lol It's like junior high flashback for me. The clothes alone... I feel like I just spent an afternoon looking through a dEALIA*S catalogue picking out clothes I'd never buy/wear. I was always so amused at how we would have never gotten away with wearing half of what is on the show (not so much this episode, but later ones). Also, yeah, the club???? This was so not a thing in my area for teens. It always felt sooooo weird to see. Like were their fake clubs for teens anywhere during that time? I'm sure they drew inspiration from something? Idk But I def remember all the bands showing up and just thinking it was so weird and cool at the same time.

ashinscribbleland

Fun fact, not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but Dolly Parton was an uncredited producer on the show.

Madeline Jensen

I’m so glad you’re watching this. This is one of my favorite shows.

Teri

So excited for this! I grew up on Buffy and was obsessed with it lol. I second what others have said, stick with the series and it gets so much better. You won’t regret picking this show to do a watch party for!

Benjamin Smith

OHMYGOD I'm so excited you're watching this! It's one of two of my all time favorites (the other is Alias). Anything where girls kick ass! Willow (Alyson Hannigan) was in American Pie but she was also one of the leads in How I Met Your Mother. I agree with the comments above. The first season isn't the best but stick it out. It's really good!

Kathy

silver bullets are for werewolves. this is what I get for multiple rewatches of buffy and supernatural

Nicole M

OMG!! another thing I'm watching with you Audrey. I watch buffy back in the day loved loved it Sarah OMG loved her.

Linda

It's definitely one of those movies that's so bad it's awesome.

Carleen

The movie was cheesy and bad, but I still loved it. It was so much fun, plus you know Luke Perry, it was actually my first introduction to Buffy and when I heard they were making the show I was all 'Yep, I'm definitely watching that. I don't pretend it's a good movie, but when you're drinking wine and looking for something silly to keep you entertained, it works

Kate Baro

He is not from Charmed. David Boreanaz was in a spinoff of this show called Angel. He also starred in Bones and SEAL Team. Buffy is one of those shows that had to find it's footing, which it did fairly quickly. It also had to overcome it's origin in the movie - which was not that great. It has become a cult favorite, but it's just not a good movie. The first season is only about 12 episodes. It's a series that does the opposite of what so many other shows do - it gets better and better. It never really jumped the shark. Stick with it. You won't regret it. And, for the record, when I was in high school, I went to a club like The Bronze. That was in the 80s. So, they do exist. They just aren't common.

Carleen

YAY!!!!!! So excited

Patti Jones

The guy isn’t from Charmed. The two shows aren’t related, they just both deal with supernatural creatures. Stick with the show it’s worth it. Season 1 isn’t great it was very low budget. For season two they had a bigger budget and were able to hire more experienced writers and that’s when the show became very popular.

Jonathan

I loved Buffy growing up, but season 1 isn't the best It gets better with season two and later LOL @ the "she does not look like a vampire slayer", it's supposed to subvert the helpless little blonde who always dies in the movies trope

Kate Baro

well now I know what I am watching tonight
