I absolutely agree that this song is stronger in the movie. Also I appreciate you sharing your story. "Quiet" hits me deep as well.

This was a great reaction (as per usual). I hope you're getting great rest after your surgery! Once you're nice and healed I would LOVE to see you react to My House from this musical. It was personally my fav song

I think I still prefer the west end/bway performances of this song I've seen, but still suuuuper strong and a great performance!

I agree! She is fantastic. I’ve been remarking on her accent delivery also. Simply amazing. I love the video her sister posted when she accepted the role. So special. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRbWKy3v/ The whole movie is magical.

Well shit. That hit way too close to home. In the last year my younger sister and I were both diagnosed with ASD, ADHD and CPTSD and all along we kept thinking that our childhoods weren’t THAT bad when in retrospect we spent the majority of our childhoods in dissociative states trying not to feel and see what was really going on and to turn off the thousands of voices constantly screaming in our heads. I remember that I would spend hours laying upside down on my bed with my head hanging off just so that my pounding heartbeat in my head would help drown out the screaming of my parents and brothers. I came home from kindergarten one day and told my mom that I didn’t have any feelings and she laughed it off thinking I meant fillings because a dentist visited our class that day but she didn’t know that we had also been talking about feelings and I just didn’t feel anymore. I was five and I had already shut down. I was Elsa before Elsa was even written. “Conceal, don’t feel. Don’t let them know.” BUT now that I do know more about me and how my brain works, I’m still Elsa but I’m not hiding who I am anymore. “Show yourself. I’m no longer trembling. Here I am, I’ve come so far.”

Alisha Weir is the girls name and she’s fantastic! She’s only 13 years old currently and she’s actually from Dublin so as well as her amazing singing, dancing and acting, she delivers a remarkably believable English accent consistently throughout the movie. She’s going places!

So the first time I heard this song was in high school. A girl in my class sang this song and was amazing. (I went to an art school, so there was a lot of singing)
