GLEE S03E16 WATCH PARTY

Its baffling how only Rachel is ever crapped on, she is called out for her selfishness, yet when she acts selflessly it is ignored, and no one else is called out for their selfishness and horribleness. For example, even though Finn does have a right and a say in their future, it is extremely selfish for him to confront her and demand that she not only consider giving up her dream of going to Nyada, which is something she has been actually working towards most of the school year, to follow a whim that was offered to him earlier that day, and is not even really his dream!

The songs in this episode are really good and some of the other story lines aren't great, looking at the introduction of Unique and how it was handled, but FIn not knowing what he wants to do with his life is so real and makes this a good one for me, Not everyone has a huge dream, I never did in highschool and I still don't. I just live each day and keep going forward.

Wren Martin

This episode was never my absolute favorite but it’s good. Disco Inferno is amazing and Finns improvement is great. The next episode however is a personal favorite of mine. Also Alex Newel (Unique) got 2nd place on Glee Project s2 but I think they got the best deal out of anyone who came from that show.

Selma Jabr

I was sad to see that Quinn wasn’t in the final number because I love to see Dianna in a suit lol

Rheannon

Just a heads up, the scripts will get progressively worse. There will be some great ones but the writing just went down hill. Gleeks mostly stayed for the performances.

Lisa Guerrero

Haha! It’s cute that Naya is the short one in the family. Both her mother and her sister are model tall. Her brother was a football player.

Rasha

Naya can wear a trash bag and still look sexy lol. That’s how gorgeous she was. It’s also in her genes, her whole family is gorgeous.

Saturday Night Fever watch party??!!

Steph Stephens

It's annoying how that "sex tape" thing was written as a joke only. It would've been an interesting storyline. I also think that is unbelieveable that Santana didn't have a future plan or wanted to be famous just because. That was stolen from Lauren Zizes back in season 2. Sadly, we know they were being given "so much storylines" because they were being quietly erased from the show.

Capri Zonica

I had a huge smile all the way through this. Your energy plus this episode is gold.

EllyRose

this is one of my favorite episodes. so excited that you got to it

Jeanette Dawe

I received the ultimate 13th birthday gift that I had prayed and begged for when I received the soundtrack album and it came with an instructional book on the iconic 🕺. My friends and I had sleepovers where we would play the record and pretend that my basement floor was lit up like the one in the movie and learn the iconic dance. Audrey, you mentioned But you had never seen the original movie I think we should do an epic watch party of it.

Stephanie Authier

The disjointed storytelling continues. A lot of the characters were very out of character in this episode. Rachel's sudden change of heart about Finn's future was jarring because it was just so fast, like within the same episode fast...felt like whiplash. Finn suddenly having an epiphany that he wants to be an actor when he has been bombarded with pushes to pursue performing from so many people this whole series and he has actively avoided things like starring in the West Side Story (he didn't even try out and used the tire shop as an excuse not to) came out of left field. Mercedes all of a sudden losing all her confidence when she has always put herself out there as a strong woman who is willing to fight for what she wants and gets a push from Sam, who is not her boyfriend, but she acts like he is...they broke up 3 episodes ago and haven't even shared a word and they were kissing after he posted a video of her without her permission. Santana not having a clue about what she wants (when we all know how shrewd, cunning, and strategic she is - it's just hard to believe that she wouldn't have any idea what she wants...I would think that if anything she would be suffering from choice overload since she has so many talents that can be translated into any number of careers), and then she wants to be famous without caring how she gets there? (The same girl who is already known to the entire state because of her outing during the campaign). This is also where I started to really not like the way that they wrote Brittany's character. Releasing a sex tape has such a huge impact and it is now the third time she has overstepped when it comes to hers and Santana's privacy and the ramifications were just glossed over. I just wish they could have done more development for Brittany's character instead of continuing to have her be gullible and clueless. Songs were great though, from beginning to end. Hearing Naya sing at the lower end of her register was just more of a testament to her amazing talent

Gemma Rivera

I honestly wonder if what Brittany did was her way of telling Santana to forget about fame and go to college. Brittany showed her the crazy things people do to become famous and then got her a scholarship. Santana is definitely a talented performer but does she want to sing or try her hand at acting? You can clearly see that Rachel and Mercedes both have their hearts set on how they’ll get famous. Santana’s not so sure about what she wants to do. I actually think Santana would make a great lawyer. She’s very competitive and loves to win. She will be determined to win her case. I can see her making great arguments on behalf of her clients. Hey, lawyers get famous too. I’m sure most of us could name one or two famous lawyers.

Rasha

Fun fact: The dance floor in this episode is the actual dance floor from Saturday Night Fever. Also the bleachers the guys sang on during Summer Nights were the actual bleachers from Grease.

Ashley

Alex Newell seemed to be in the middle of the pack of the Glee Project and remained presenting as a male and then in one performance Unique was born and Ryan Murphy became way more interested.

Wayne Joy

i love every single song on this episode like the music is just so good in this episode and in the next episode too

fry

I liked Unique's song, and I am glad Mercedes is with Sam....question mark??? I didn't watch much from the later season so I have no idea😂

Katie Kat

I love the disco ep

Linda

Alex Newell who plays Wade/Unique was from the Glee Project season one. Season one had 2 winners and 2 runner ups who were all on Glee. The winners were Samuel Larsen (Joe) and Damien McGinty (Rory) those two won a 7 episode arc. Alex Newell (Wade/Unique) and Lindsay Pearce (Harmony) were both the runner ups of season one. They each won a 2 episode arc on Glee. However Alex Newell without giving anything away ended up on a whole lot more than just 2 episodes. The producers of the Glee Project however made season 2 only have one winner and no runner ups instead of the two winners and two runner ups that season one had.

https://youtu.be/fzzVRuH5Z_E For anyone who has not been able to pick out Nayas lower register in More Than A Woman. If you start it around 1:20 makes it a lot easier to hear. This video is how I first heard her and now I listen for her lower register every time I watch. 😊

This is a good episode. But what you said about the plot being bad is a consistent problem thoughout season 3. SO many people have this as their favourite season, which is fine. Each to their own of course. But it's honestly second from bottom for me. It's a bit of a mess. But the music is great, you're right. 👌 Alex really is special. Their voice is GORGEOUS! And Unique is a really special character, she's a main character throughout season 4 and half of season 5. So you have a lot of Unique to look forward to. 😊 What you said about Finn's scenes in this episode being hard to watch is how I felt too. This is when Cory really started having major substance abuse issues, you can see his pain in his performance. Cory isn't in season 4 much to start off with because he was in rehab for the first time. And Lea was a wreck apparently. Her alleged behind the scenes behaviour is inexcusable of course, but considering all she was going through I guess that's how her pain came out. By being rude and snipey to people. It was just an awful situation. 😭 I also find it so random how Jesse was suddenly back in this episode. We haven't seen him for AGES lol. And he's still just a horrible person. There aren't many TV characters that I loathe but he's one of them. He's a bully, he never grows or changes, he's fatphobic and he's transphobic too. I wish he'd just go away frankly. 🤷 But to lighten the mood slightly. During the final song Night Fever, when they're all disco dancing in the white suits, you might notice that throughout the song Rachel and Sam are right at the back. Which is strange because Rachel is usually center of attention and Sam is known for his dancing. Well that's because Lea and Chord couldn't get the hang of the disco moves and they kept laughing. Chord talked about it and he said that him and Lea were behaving like naughty school children on set that day and the director had to keep yelling at them so he pushed them to the back. 😂😂

Siobhan Linehan

Lord Tubbington was totally behind that.

Carleen

I really think Brittany knew exactly what she was doing with all the crazy things to help Santana become famous. She helped her see that wanting to be famous by any means necessary is not what she really wants, and by getting her a full ride to college so she can figure out what she wants to do is amazing. Yes, releasing “Two Girls, One Cat” was extreme (with Britt though, I’m betting it was 90% Lord Tubbington) but they are both 18 by this point so not illegal, just a huge wake up call for Santana. Also, may I say, Santana would have made a kick ass lawyer and Brittany would have been phenomenal private investigator. I’m still mad that they spent all this time helping these three figure out what they want to do after high school when there is someone else who really needs help now and no teachers even notice. (Trying to keep it vague as to not spoil anything)

Annie Willow

alex newell was a runner up on the glee project and got a 2 episode arc on season 3 but ryan murphy loved the character so much he kept it until glee ended

Luke Dennis

I've needed this so bad. Lost my last grandpa on Saturday morning and I've desperately needed a serotonin boost. I love this episode. Naya's solo in this episode is still one of my faves to this day.

Megan Christina

yesss!!! i love this ep! one of my favourite parts is Santana singing the low part and Finn singing the high part in More Than A Woman.. SOOO underrated!!!

Emma

yay 1080p full watch parties :)

!

Yes they found Alex Newell (Unique/Mo) on The Glee Project. They also found Damian McGinty (Rory), Samuel Larson (Joe) and Lindsey Heather Pierce (Harmony/Gerber baby) on there as well

Jay Johnston

Love most of the covers in this episode. "Disco Inferno" is my favorite of the all the covers in this episode. "If I Can't Have You" is one of Naya's solos many don't mention alot but I actually love it. Really like "More Than A Woman" and "Stayin' Alive" Cory's voice really had gotten so much better due to vocal training so he was able to we hear him singing in a falsetto voice something we wouldn't have gotten in earlier seasons. Also like that on "More Than A Woman" Naya's ad-libs were sung in deeper/lower voice.
