2022-10-19 18:16:41 +0000 UTCThis episode is the low moment of s3 to me. The songs aren’t the best in hindsight to others, Wills involvement was cringe, not great. Him not speaking Spanish is a continuity error given he spoke it in s1. Tho I love Santana speaking out against him and the sleepover scene. Also Sue does end up being a good mom. Without spoilers, her baby couldn’t have asked for a better parent given the situation.

2022-10-04 20:54:51 +0000 UTCGiven Emma’s(the character) past about her OCD, I can see why she is being portrayed as a bit of non-chemistry between herself and Will, and I think it’s more of an actor choice to show that Emma is slowly getting better at dealing with her condition. The Puck Comment about being in Jail or Dead, set oof levels to Max!!! By far, one of my favorite performances here was “La Isla Bonita”, mainly because A: it was a duet, B: it was originated by Madonna, and C: it was sang by Ricky Martin, and come on, he was HOT! Lol! Coach Roz first putting Sue in her place, and then reaching the cheerios to crump? *Chefs Kiss, followed by a Z Snap!* I also love that we got to see a moment, albeit brief, where Sue was actually not mean, and showed that she cared, at least a little. That will become more prevalent in the coming episodes, off and on. All in all, not my fave episode, but I kinda see where they were going with it.

Surprising to me that it’s the only Elvis song they did. Feel like we could have gotten some good Blaine x Elvis performances.

However the music in this episode (Mercedes and the duet with Santana and David) were my favorite, also it's great to see Roz Washington put Sue in her place.

Nobody asked for I'm sexy and I know it, and there was no reason to sing in Spanish, singing english songs by Hispanic singers would've been enough. Accents really affect to phonetic in singing.

2022-10-03 14:12:42 +0000 UTCThe problem with Will's teaching Spanish is finally addressed...I'm so glad they had Santana comment on all that. The biggest problem is that he had mashed a whole bunch of different cultures. I mean matadors are traditionally Spanish and Mariachi music originates in Mexico and even the way that they speak Spanish is different between those two countries. She was right to say what she said and to stand up for her culture. I like that Roz can match Sue's meanness, she needs someone who will challenge her because she basically steamrolls everyone else. I've always preferred Emma with Carl. It always felt like Will and Emma were too forced. I liked him better with Shelby actually. Ryan Murphy chose the couples from the beginning it seems and didn't seem to want to try and allow for his characters to grow, which was a shame. I think that Santana's aim was to showcase David to expose Will's shortcomings as a Spanish teacher. And who wouldn't want to duet with Ricky Martin? I know that on a personal level, Naya was so excited to perform with him because of their shared Puerto Rican heritage. I also think that they missed a huge opportunity to have Mike perform because Harry was actually born in Costa Rica and lived there for years before moving to the States and he can speak spanish

It is a bit of a filler episode but season 3 has so many serious and sad episodes compared to the other seasons so this fun episode is a welcome one imo. I think the whole episode is really funny, especially the "with who's vagina" line, that cracks me up every time. And it was awesome to have Ricky Martin on the show. And even the performances are good, if slightly cringey lol. I do like this one. 💕 Although this episode does also prove yet again that every single teacher, both permanent and substitute, would be in prison in reality lol. Or at least would've been fired by now. Like Sue has pushed people down the stairs, beaten up kids, insults kids constantly and talked to the kids about sperm. Will performs inappropriate songs with the kids all the time and his relationship with them is a bit too close sometimes. And Ricky Martin's performance with Santana was inappropriate for a teacher and a student you're right. And Figgins is just the worst principal ever, he doesn't discipline any of the teachers like he should. And coach Roz Washington insults and body shames every teacher and student she comes into contact with. Etc etc etc. Like it's literally a school full of terrible teachers. 😂 Oh and I totally agree about Will and Emma having no chemistry, I've said that all along. I think he had the best chemistry with Holly Holliday tbh. But I guess they couldn't get Gwenyth full time. 🤷

Yes Puck saying that he would either be in jail or dead in a few years is a crazy forshadow...yikes Not my favourite episode of season 3 but the music was good. I love pretty much all the upcoming episodes tho. And we will finally get to see more of Santana and Brittany's relationship!
