I fell in love with this song when I heard Katie Holmes sing it on Dawson’s Creek back when I was in high school. It fit the context of that storyline but, oh man, I was gutted when I the first time I watched Les Mis and had the full original context of the song. Samantha Barks destroyed my heart as Eponine.

2022-10-02 07:32:07 +0000 UTCoh i am SO excited for the les mis watch party, i remember watching the movie with my grandma when i was 12 and i loved it so much that it was my gateway into musical theatre! it was the first stage musical i saw on the west end and eponine was played by eva noblezada (i think you might have reacted to her in hadestown) it was an amazing experience!!

She's absolutely incredible, and I hear that she's playing Elsa in the musical Frozen on the West End right now. Yes, everything was filmed live. I hope none of the actors had any vocal damage for singing 12+ hours straight live five days a week. I was watching interviews and making this movie, and it sounded like a few actors did unhealthy things for this film. Anne Hathaway lost a dangerous amount of weight for her role, and she sang and cried for I Dreamed A Dream for who knows how many hours. Hugh Jackman completely cut out water from his diet 36 hours before singing to lose body fat. You must stay hydrated, especially if you’re singing and crying in most takes. I’m curious to see how you’ll react to the rest of the film because you can tell how strained their voices are in some scenes.

2022-10-01 04:10:13 +0000 UTCSamantha Barks is AH-MA-ZING! You should do a deep dive into her work. It's just **chef's kiss**. I saw her at the world premiere of Pretty Woman in Chicago (before it headed for Broadway), and she was so so so fabulous. (And she can rock a white pantsuit! Whew!)
