Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name - HDR Optimized Settings
Added 2023-11-16 09:56:19 +0000 UTC
The game DOES USE/APPLY Xbox , Playstation and PC HDR Calibration app settings.
Like a Dragon Gaiden is the first Yakuza game to natively support HDR10 ever and has a good HDR implementation as it correctly applies the system-level HDR Calibration values to the game.
The only strange thing is that by default the game will launch with the HDR: Off and you need to manually enable the in-game HDR toggle for it to work.
And that's it :)
No other adjustments are needed.
Enjoy,
-P
BONUS:
- Make sure PS5 is set to "Prefer Performance Mode" for games in order for the game to run at 60fps. This also requires a new save game to work at the moment (very weird).

You can't use both at once. PS5 can only be calibrated to one setting at a time. If you calibrate the PS5 settings for HGIG and turn on dynamic tonemapping on your TV the TV will be limited by the amount of information the PS5 is presenting. If you configure the PS5 for dynamic tonemapping and enable HGIG on the TV you will get clipping. Set the PS5 and your TV to the same, either HGIG or DTM.

2023-12-04 16:51:57 +0000 UTCCan you have both on at the same time? As I have a Samsung s90c and it seems to allow for one to have hdr tone mapping on active and game hdr to be on as well. It seems to be brighter and more colorful with both on. Is this the right way to go with this tv's hdr settings?

2023-11-17 09:35:42 +0000 UTCAlso, you can change to 60fps if you set your console to prefer performance mode in the ps5 menu. Otherwise it defaults to 30fps. Only seems to work on a new save file though.

2023-11-17 09:29:52 +0000 UTCThat's already ok for HGIG. Use that if you prefer, it's just personal preference in the end. HGIG is more accurate...but only in a completely dark room, DTM can be brighter which can look better in a dim/brighter room.

2023-11-16 10:04:16 +0000 UTCAs you like/prefer, it depends on how you've setup the system HDR Calibration app.
