Gears of War 4 - HDR Optimized Settings
Added 2022-03-14 15:06:06 +0000 UTC
The game is NOT using/applying Xbox HDR Calibration app settings.
The game has a good HDR implementation up to 4.000 nits Peak HDR Brightness but with misleading patterns to be used.

If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
- Set HDR Brightness slider to: +Max clicks (starting all the way to the left/0; which is around 4.000 nits);
> you're using HGIG:
- Set HDR Brightness slider to: +6 clicks (starting all the way to the left/0; which is around 800 nits) or +10 clicks (for G2) or +20 clicks (for G3).
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
- Set HDR Brightness slider to: +10 clicks (starting all the way to the left/0; which is around 1.000 nits);
> you're using HGIG:
- Set HDR Brightness slider to one of those values and the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits":

In all cases leave the regular "Brightness" slider to: 50/Middle (Default) as it already corresponds to a balanced/correct exposure and gamma.

Yeah, Gears 5 + Hivebusters is one of the best HDR game so far. You can find the settings for those here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/gears-5-hdr-63830495
