A few words about my Jeep Wrangler TJ, which I owned in 2017-2024.
At some point I wanted to try more serious off-roading. For this purpose, I needed a real off-road vehicle, and that is undoubtedly the Wrangler TJ.
In Europe, this car is rare and there was not much choice. At that time, there were only a few cars for sale with a 4.0 engine and a manual gearbox, and that was the only model I wanted. I found an unmodified copy from 1997 in acceptable condition as a basis for further modifications.
A full 4 inch lift was carried out with dedicated springs, shock absorbers and adjustable panhard rods. The front suspension was converted to long-arm to reduce the attack angle of the front wishbones, which is important with such a large lift. The car was completely renovated in 2018 at my request in a specialized workshop. The body was dismantled, the frame and the bottom part of the body were completely renovated. The car was protected against corrosion and the body was additionally painted with raptor coating. Wheels with MT 33-inch tires and a winch with a synthetic rope was installed.
And in fact, I had a lot of fun with this car for 3-4 years, mainly on nearby off-road areas and military training grounds. However, I must confess that I wasn't really overcome with that passion and for the next few years I used the Jeep only as a convertible for summer driving on local dirt roads. Finally, this year I sold the car and in its place I bought a Volkswagen Amarok, as a more practical car in the area where I now live.
I am attaching some photos illustrating this story, after purchase, from renovation and from field trips.
