"Failed" is a very strong word, creating a film, documentary or anything is like a journey and as you travel you are given many options on the routes to take and some are more direct than others. Because the time I need to get my film done, the footage available to me not to mention my films are voice over led, so I need to take the most direct route or I will be talking like criminally fisted for 30 minutes which is incredible fucking boring, If I veer off the route I make the story more complex and without interviews and sound bites as mentioned it is all of talking and that isn't entertainment for me. I think you will find any professional for the sake of the story decides what works and what doesn't, even feature films drop things that wreck the flow so no I didn't forget or fail, for me it did not work in the flow I need to make a film with very little footage to back it up work. :)
