NEW PETER BECK INTERVIEW!!!

Comments

Great interview!

Do you have an in-depth video on the Rutherford engine on your todo short list?

Great interview Tim you were so good at getting him to open up just a little bit.

Dave Colton

Great Interview. I think you are doing great in having Peter reveal where they are and where they are going.

Ulf Asplund

Great interview Tim! nothing wrong came to my intention. Do you think they will use 2 or all 4 engines for propulsive landing? As Mr Beck mention, Electric turbo pump are great if you want to start and stop, start and stop an engine repeatedly. They may try to kinda pulse the engines to slow down the booster until landing, similar to RCS thrusters and potentially land with unburned propellant on board. Just a thought.

Awesome video! I live about 35 min from Wallops, and I am very interested in getting actively involved in the space industry in some capacity, so this news is very exciting. Keep up the great work!

Excellent interview, Tim. The excitement of this new venture and the serious engineering behind it came across loud and clear.

Edward Wittkofski

Such a great interview ! Peter Beck is an awesome guy and u're a very talented interviewer, bleeding off so much enthusiasm and dedication. Thanks, can't wait for the next one. Mike

Well, now that he's okay with making big rockets, obviously the next step up in size will be the Meganeutron.

Reed Bowman

I thought you were about to present him as "Rocketlab's founder, CEO and...hat-eater Peter Beck"

Yay 🥳

liesbeth

And sorry for not being very specific: Great interview!!

Thomas Maufer

There was one acronym that wasn't decoded in the conversation: NDT. If I had to guess, based on context, it's Non-Destructive Testing, but perhaps throw up an overlay to explain that to folks who aren't engineers.

Thomas Maufer

Yeah, this was also my only substantive point: acronyms and a few terms/locations that might not be so familiar to many. This betrays my ignorance, of course, but I hadn’t come across Wallops, for example. If some kind of subtitling could be enabled, that would totally fix it (though maybe not auto—I dread to think what horrors auto-titles might produce for some of this!!😆). Thank you @Alan Burgess for raising this one. And notwithstanding my point above, this is a fantastic interview—well, more like a fascinating but very relaxed conversation. Thanks again, Tim!

Great interview! I didn't notice any obvious errors that would require editing before release.

Really enjoyed the interview. Peter used several acronyms that weren't later explained in the interview. Subtitling those might help some viewers.

That's actually a very good point!

Gilles Volluz

Walter Cronkite could not have done an interview with the amount of knowledge you have. You are way beyond him in an even more diverse field of spaceflight today. He did a great job at his time, but I don't think he would have excelled like you. Thanks for another superb interview.

Another great interview, Tim. I couldn't help but note that even over Zoom, you two have such a close rapport. Good luck in the new studio and with the car. W

Otherwise - fabulous interview. You seemed so natural and comfortable. All of that time live streaming launches is paying off.

It sounded like Peter was saying they would be willing to share their AFTS without royalties? He didn't explicitly say but implied they were willing to provide a qualified solution if they accepted it as a standard? Most of my questions on this video were from this part of the interview and what he was thinking for the propulsive landing engine configuration.

Well done, Tim! I do like the little nuggets of new knowledge that Peter occasionally drops in his answers to your questions. I am greatly wishing RocketLabs all the success they are shooting for!

I don’t follow RocketLab much so I found myself trying to ‘catch up’ with each question - what is he talking about? Oh yeah, I remember... so how about u replace that rubbish intro with a little pre-roll that intro’s Peter Beck founder of RocketLab, launch Electron from and and ??? (Show pics) etc. Still only needs 10 seconds and u can re-use that pre-roll in future. But loved the questions and learning more. Great video. Just would be better / easier to watch with pre-roll to get casual viewer up to speed.

Great interview Tim, now we all wait for the big Neutron reveal. I could listen to him talk for hours and would love to know his views on Starship and New Shepard/Glenn....

"Will you be using carbon or do you have another material, I forget" Tim, trying to ask as if he didn't know already 😂

Tibo

Excellent. Covers a lot of ground and provides some good teasers regarding Neutron and future missions. Good on ya!

Great job Tim, welcome back to our great state of Iowa!

start lego theme music - 'Peter Beck is awesome, because he's a kiwi!'. I asked on one youtube video before how I could buy into Rocket Labs. Now they are going public so I can but I believe they are doing it through someone else. Any one know how an Ozzy can buy in?

Andrew Maltby

That was a great interview...it will be interesting to see if they build on-site or have a facility somewhere on the eastern seaboard and ship them via barge?

loved all of this! Every question you asked was exactly what I wanted to know as well

So good to get other work beyond SpaceX. Thanks for this.

Great interview Tim!

I got one where can you get Mr Beck’s shirt ?? Ha

Eric Sowder

Looks good Tim!!

I liked the interview but I still don't know how much is a meganewton!!

Very epic Tim!
