Thus, for many pairings birth control isn't needed, and it appears STDs are much less prevalent in his world. But since Dazzler and her new friend are both reindeer, precautions are in order. I take the liberty of assuming that Dazzler is on birth control pills and simple wants "belt and suspenders redundancy", which is always a good idea.
