Hey everyone! I don't know if you've received an email from Patreon yet, but they sent out one today explaining that the reason for last month's payment issues was because they now are using multiple payment processors. They moved adult patreons to a UK-based processor, and they said this may result in two things:

1) Some (not all) banks might charge a 3% processing fee for overseas customers.

2) Some banks might see it's an overseas charge and mark it as fraudulent and freeze payments.

If you're worried about your payment going through, or had issues last month, you might want to contact your bank and make sure they know patreon is an approved charge to avoid future issues.

Paypal seems to be unaffected. I think this is mostly a credit card/debit card issue.

If you do get declined, Patreon has said they will contact you. Regardless, declines are not a new thing, and often can be fixed by checking to make sure your bank isn't marking your payment as fraudulent, or retrying your payment. I normally get 10-20% declines each month, and have to ask people to retry their payments.

I theorized last month that Patreon shifted their payment systems abroad as they likely had to in order to continue to host adult content, as the US-based processors likely were looking to drop them. The possible 3% fee might be a pain for some, but it's not unusual for overseas purchases, given exchange rates and such.

I hope you don't run into any problems, but at least this is a heads up to keep an eye on things!
