Sexual Assault of Men as Comedy Part 2
Added 2020-01-30 12:36:57 +0000 UTCFinally! Here's part two in our video series on the sexual assault of men as comedy in entertainment. As you'll recall part one focused on humor involving men sexually assaulting or harassing other men. This video examines media in which women are depicted as perpetrators who prey on men and boys.
This episode took longer than normal to complete because the topic required a rather complex, nuanced, and sensitive argument to do it justice. Together the two videos are over an hour long and include clips from well over 100 movies and TV shows. All told these two episodes took the better part of a year to write, research, record, and edit. I hope it was worth it!
I'm excited to get back to making some slightly shorter video essays :) I'm already working on a bunch of episodes including one on the myth that "boys don't cry", one on droids in Star Wars, and another on the media pattern wherein men only find redemption in death. I’ll also be doing an analysis of colonialism in modern board games later this year.
